DO NOT SHOP Genesishobby.com
Hello all,

This thread is to inform everyone not to shop at genesishobby.com.
This guy hung up on me when talking on the phone because he didnt want to hear me talk. I called to purchase a Scorpion 4025-550 motor for my Pantera 50E conversion. I bought this heli outright from a private seller in California. He then tried to look me up, and said he has no record of me buying a 50e from him, and I told him thats because I bought it from a private seller.
He ALWAYS interupts you when you try to talk to him, and says he doesnt care what you have to say, and WILL NOT sell me a scorpion motor. His online store shows them in stock and sells for 134.99. After he hung up on me, i called him back, and he said he doesnt have them in stock. He also says he doesnt own a hobby store. He has an online store and store locater on his website. So therefore he lies about his hobby store, and having the motor in stock. He says he doesnt care who i am, and will not sell a motor to anyone unless they buy the conversion directly from him. The motor is all i need to finish the heli. He calls me a liar, and said im linked to someone here in AZ who called yesterday trying to buy one from him; which is not true! And i told him i have no idea what he is talking about linked to someone in AZ.
When you call the first thing he askes you, where you calling from? Then he will tell you a boggus story to try and lure you from buying one. I told him multiple times im not scamming anyone nor making up a story to just buy one for a different model. He said im not buying this monkey s**t!!!! Him and I literally argued over the phone, trying my best to tell him i have a Pantera 50E. But he didnt want to hear it. He asked me for the name of the person I bought it from. I cant remember the name of the guy, nor will i give out someones first and last name to someone i dont know.
So basically i am telling everyone not to shop with this guy. Lost ALOT of business as this will be past to every forum site on the internet. Lose 1 customer, you lose 10. There is a bit more to the story. The guy will probably find this in here, and try to lie to everyone saying this isnt true. IT IS TRUE!!!! He lied to me! OH and said he doesnt care about his customers!

A guy tried to buy a special tapered engine nut from him and entered the same problem you have.

I'm convinced this guy (jbeech)is actually his own worst enemy in his hobby business.

... Check this thread, and judge for yourself.

The customer is always right. But, the vendor gets to decides who is still a customer.

Experience has taught me that those that go through life with their guard held high do so out of fear that others in the world share their own moral and ethical values.

Who cares about him, get it somewhere else. Look at all the great HS right here on RR, I'm sure one of these will have this motor and sell it to you.Team Synergy, Rail blades, Team Scorpion, V-Team

jbeech's name rang a bell, so I checked my ignore list and he's on it. I can't remember the specific incident that got him on there, but I'm sure he earned it. I remember the post about the part the guy was trying to order from him and his crazy responses. Wow.

Well the guy thought I was linked to some other guy here in az. I do live in az, but do not know the guy. He thinks I'm trying to buy it for him, since he wouldn't sell it to him because he has a fusion 50.

As for buying it elswhere, NO ONE has it. Everyone is out of stock and on backorder.

So basically this story got so twisted because he thinks I'm a liar and buying it for the other guy in az that called the other day.

Just horrible customer service. I work for a hobby shop and told him regardless who it is, every buyer is a customer. He could've had a good sale instantly. But he rather accuse me of something I didn't do.

Dhollein: I was completly nice to this guy. Told him what I had and everything; just being a normal happy customer. He started asking where I was from, I told him, and he said he finds it really funny I live in az where the same guy tried the ther day. He told me he don't care who I am, he won't play this "monkey s**t". That set me off a bit. I'm like whoa dude, I don't know what he is talking about. Won't let u get a word in. He will wait till you start talking, then continue to interupt. I had to tell him once(and this was after he hung up on me) to shut up for a minute and let me talk. He didn't like that. He started EVERYTHING!!!! I was totally nice to him.

That is strange. I'm not sure why someone in the business of selling wouldn't sell to anyone who came calling. Why would anyone care if a motor went to you, or a Fusion owner, or even if it gets thrown right in the trash?Nick Crego

John Beech, the guy at Genesis Hobby/Audacity is very high strung. He calls himself a "type A personality" and uses that as an excuse for his rants. Something must have gotten said to ruffle his feathers then it's over and just as well that he hung up because from there you were not going to get anywhere. He loves a good debate. Unless you were trying for some sort of warranty help, go somewhere else. Get your motor and be happy. It's easy enough to avoid being treated like that. If you need proof of how bad conversations can quickly go with him, go read some of the Audacity forum threads. Look at his personal stats and note how many times he's been PINKED. He can be a nice guy and he can be a not so nice person.

Ironically, yesterday I had a nice exchange with him about the 4 blade head he advertises on his website. It was supposed to be ready May of 2010. Unfortunately it's not a viable product yet but if/when it becomes one, I hope to have one for a Pantera I put on the shelf looking for a special purpose!

He has some neat products but like FileIFR said, he can be his own worst enemy.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I hope you find what you need from him or somewhere else and can get back to flying fun.

I called to purchase a Scorpion 4025-550 motor for my Pantera 50E conversion.
What is your budget? Have you looked at a NeuMotor? If you can't find the Scorpion motor, give Steve at Neu a call to see if he can help you.

I just replaced a stock Compass motor on Justin's 6HV (Actro clone) with a Neu 1912H/1.5y with 532kv. This might work for you.

It might clear up some of this story if you posted a picture of the pantera. John is very proud of his relationships with customers. He knows them by name and location. I tend to believe something is being left out of your reporting. Just show us the model please. TimT

If you are ready to get it in the air right now, why not go to a Hyperion motor of the same size? They are of a little higher quality and priced about the same, and generally in stock -- maybe even from a LHS. If not Allerc is located in Phx, has most everything in stock, and really ships fast -- i.e. buy it today before 3 pm and you will have it tomorrow when mail arrives. They never hang up on me, nor will they hang up on you. And they are always polite & knowledgeable.

Here is a question.

If you suspect someone is trying to buy beer for kids outside, can you refuse to sell it to a man? Does he have to prove to the clerk that he is not buying for the kis or does the clerk have to prove that he is buying it for the kids?

if i am selling an item intended for product A then someone use it for product B, i will be very happy and willing to help them out because this will expand my business.

heck, if someone buys all my items and throws them all in the trash bin, i'm okay with that as long as i made my profit and if that's what makes my customer happy, why not.
