Sounds like that woman did what she wanted. That was her right.

Not to long ago, I had a relative pass on. It was just old age and she was apparently ready. She had a lot of money. Not enough to make others filthy rich. But, substantial.

That relative cut close family members out of her will with no explanation. Big surprise to the family with no prior warning. Even well after the fact, it was a hard one to figure. Even for those that benefited somewhat.

All decided it was best to move on and try to let it go. Those were the deceased wishes and as hard as it was to accept, thats life.

Same in this case. Folks have their own little worlds they live in with their own realities and have a right to choose who or what their estates go to once they pass on. In a lot of cases, explanations are not there.

From there, its up to the courts to finally decide, if it reaches that point.

In this case, to blame religion as a whole like the topic says is a bit of a stretch in my mind.

IMHO-
The religious people ARE the weak-minded ones. Taught from the very beginning to believe anything as long as it comes from the B-book, which is very open to misinterpretation and mistranslation.
Wake up people! Religion was the original 'government', used to control people and concentrate power. It's no different now. Bush used it to get elected and this bozo made $18 mil in a year and still counting...

I wish it would've beem more!!! This was her aunt, not her mother. And even if it was her mother, nobody should be able to sit back and lick their chops waiting for a family member to kick off.

Sounds like you just don't like religion. Religion is not our government and Bush did not use it to get elected no more than Obama did. I'm curious how you determine Bush won because of his religion ?????
Bush used it to get elected and this bozo made $18 mil in a year and still counting...
His radio station took in 18 million in donations. That does not mean its his money.

From the article:

The network of Christian radio stations based in Oakland, Ca., is almost entirely funded by donations. According to IRS filings, the group brought in $18 million in contributions in 2009 alone.

No one is questioning the legality of what she did, and yes it is her right to do what she wants with her money. This really is not about the the aunt, or her relatives, it's just another EXAMPLE of someone using religion to swindle money. It's just so damn obvious...there's plenty of dots to get a clear picture. If the money was left to the SPCA, a childrens charity or whatever it would not even have made headline news. This is about a guy using his religion to prey on vunrable folk...thats it.

You have a point.

But, where do you draw the line?

We all have free will.

How would you determine to take that away? Or, how would you determine who gets it taken away?
This is about a guy using his religion to prey on vunrable folk...thats it.
ALL religions operate today in the USA from contributions from the members. If you attempt to control that, how would you do so? We already have the IRS to keep an eye on them.

You can bet, these outfits like this, of any size, are kept a serious eye on by the IRS. Maybe there is some cheating there. Particularly with cash contributions. But, you can also bet, there is not one single small businessman that fudges a bit when it comes to cash sales. Same thing.

Yes They Are!!! THE O.P Was, or he would have not worded it that way.
Thats how it looks to me anyways.

You don't bash a grouple of people who are wrong, and lead others astray, your suposed to pray for them, and help lead them in the right direction.

If you title something like the O.P did, that trys to attach the same title to all who are (not siding with the prediction setting crowd)

It's ok to wander on your own, and try to figure out the season of his return, but to set a certian date, and fool others into beliveing you know it to be fact is wrong.
Just like Dennis Said.

Christianity & Judaism is Real Belief in God & The Holy Bible.
All these other denominations are only after one thing with their huge cathedrals, and Glass Multi Million dollar buildings.

Religon is a title atheist love to use. (I'm not Religous) I just Belive. It has no Title.

The Church of God, Or Temple as it say, is not built buy mans Hands. Just as the Bible Says.

I think you'll find that Christianity is in fact a religion. Let's see:

re·li·gion/riˈlijən/Noun
1. The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods.

Yup. Christianity is definitely a religion.

it's raccoon season, boys!!!

better get the tranquilizer guns out!!
His radio station took in 18 million in donations. That does not mean its his money.
18 million you say, Dennis, how many mental institutions can we build with that? I mean, Dennis, you'd be the MAJOR reason why these places need to be built.

We can but hope, I suppose.
You have a point.

But, where do you draw the line?

We all have free will.
Free Will indeed!!

Dennis the ranting raccoon up in a tree,
jerking off the flowers like he always does,
along comes the ranger with his tranquilizer gun,
darts the ranting raccoon and down he comes,
now the flowers in the forest can sleep safe at night.
