Cool technology, but I'm not seeing much advantage over a Mosquito Ultralight heli that can autorotate. If the engine malfunctions in this thing, it would be toast.

Isn't that why they were demonstrating the parachute safety device?

Anyway. I was thinking how man has been obsessed with the jetpack since forever

And if the engine fails on takeoff at 100 feet, how exactly does the parachute help?

That's where the Rockets on the chute come into play, at 100ft I expect the chute to be fully open well before hitting the ground. Wont be a pretty landing but the laws of gravity will be somewhat reduced.

That is one advantage over a small heli, you could mount the BRS to it. I can't see a way to mount one on a heli unless you figured out a way to eject the main blades first.
