E or 550E
I can't decide between the T-Rex 500E and 550E. Does anyone regret buying the 550? The price for lipos seems rather high. How much bigger is the 550 vs the 500? I am out here in Hawaii were its usually 15+ knots. I know the T-Rex 500 can handle higher winds, but I am sure the 550 would be slightly better. Any recommendations on what would be the better choice?

The 550e would be the best choice if you like a lot of power and speed, I was really suprised how much better the 550e was over the 500, I have both and dont even fly the 500 anymore. Im quite certain you will enjoy the 550e much better than the 500. Thats my opinion!Bill Whittaker

I would say that as long as your wallet can handle it get the 550. I have owned every size align heli and the 550 is by far my most favorite heli ever. The size is just perfect and the power is amazing! I'm sure many others will agree?

The 550 is quit a bit bigger. I just got my 550 up and flying today. Waiting to get the batteries broke in as well so I haven't tried anything yet. My 500 flies great with the 3G flybarless but I am thinking I have a new favorite model in the 550. Get the 550 and you won't regret it. Just my opinion. Chuck

Both Excellent
I have both and still fly the 500 all the time. It really depends on what size you want to fly. They are both excellent they are just different sizes.

if you want an experience, consider a logo 500/600.

have had trex 500/550, a few others and the logo wins hands down.

over a 1 year period, costs are the same.

Batteries for the 550 aren't all that expensive. Turnigy stuff from Hobby King work great and are very affordable. 4500 6S or 5000 6S packs work just fine and you don't have to mortgage your house to buy them.

500 is about the perfect size and performance to go anywhere, anytime. The 550 is a bit less portable, and needs a bit bigger space to fly well, in.

I own both, both get equal air time now that I've purchased additional batteries for the 550.

The 500 is perfect choice for a daily flier. Not to big, not to small just right. Batts and parts are cheap and is a nice bird to try new things on without worrying about crash costs.Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.

i heard that align is coming out with a new 600E soon? I wonder how long thats going to be before it hits the shelves. I think I am leaning more towards the 550 over the 500. Thats for all the responses! Yeah... 550. I am ordering it now.word puzzle: gafasiredyrkram
