It's a miracle!!!!
For all you Min Air guy, heck all heli guys. I was flying my new 700 size bird, I couldn't get the gyro set up, and it didn't feel right. After several flights and adjustments , I found the problem, I left the Min Air flybar lock tool installed on the head!!!! It's miracle that it didn't go down. I even was doing loops and flips. As lucky as I am, I should play the lottery.

Or......how about burning about a gallon after a crash rebuild, increasing the ATV's after every flight trying to get the heli to respond the way I wanted. Then, one of my buds sez, "what's that thing in the rotor head?". After explaining to him that I meant to have it in the rotor head....I removed the tool. On the next flight I damn near busted everything again with the now incredible control response.......The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Mckrackin, I dont know how. my gyro kept acting funny, and had a slight vibe on spool up, but shure enough it was still hon the head, on the side, loose but still there. I took it off and wow, flew like a new bird, did you ever see a Ma Flybar lock tool? they clip on the side."always feel thankful..... never entitled"

I came close a couple times. I always caught it during a last second swash control check when the flybar didn't tilt naturally.

For those that don't know, the old MinAir flybar lock was a tiny piece of dark red anodized aluminum about 1" by 1/2", and snapped flat against the head block under the flybar see saw/carrier assembly. Looking down on the heli, it was hard to notice:

The newer locks are a bit bigger, but were black plastic nylon. Again, they snapped around the lower head block under the flybar carrier. Difficult to notice if you weren't looking for it:

the one i used on my trex 600 was black, the same color as the head. I immediately put a piece of orange tape on it so i wouldn't leave it on.
