I use a laptop with the USB cable for setup and adjustments. The blue tooth module is handy for trouble shooting vibration problems

That bluetooth gadget sounds cool. I use the laptop mostly, and sometimes the hand-held control panel. The only drawbacks are if you plug the hand-held control panel in the wrong way it will ruin the programmer, and if you push it all the way in the slot it can be difficult to remove unless you yank on the wires. So I just don't push the plug all the way in. Another draw back is the control panel is limited to default max/min ranges (i.e. if you want to run a higher swash gain than 120). How's that for a long winded reply?_Sam B_

Haven't brought a computer to the field for a long time, only control panel which I have in the field box.

When I need to test stuff outside what I can do in the CP (or hard to keep track of) I just setup a few test-banks before I leave.

as for base Setup there is no option than a computer, connected one way or another.

CP is a "dumb" unit, you can change a value etc.
PC software has wizards, interactive stuff, that the CP cannot.

You can download the software and run the simulator mode to see how it works.

Plus you can download a vid of mine where I go through the CP.
