Castle has been very good to me. I sent a burnt esc back to hobbyking once, and they claimed they never received it and did nothing for me. I'll stick with CC.Brian

I fly a T-Rex 700e with the CC 110HV. Never had a problem and will continue to use them. In addition, in my experience with CC customer service, they have always been helpful and courteous.

Seems like that Ice 120HV are having the majority of the problems. I have been running just about every ice controller but the 120HV with zero problems. The Future of Nitro is ELECTRIC

It seems that the ICE 120HV has had a number of problems. There are MANY forums where birds are going down due to the 120. I wont give CC the AKA Casket Cremations just yet. The 160 is running good. The 60, 80, 110.. Great esc's. I believe the Gov either has faulty settings incurred by the pilot, or running the esc the way the instructions do not recommend. With that being said, CC produces thousands of esc's every year, there is bound to be a bad batch. Customer service will take care of it though. Either way, pilot error or faulty system, I am happy with them.

you want CC to replace your entire helicopter? CC is replacing their product that broke. I don't think anywhere in their warranty that it states that they'll replace everything that broke as a result of an electronics failure. I actually don't think any manufacturer would do that.

A lot of them are catching on fire when plugging in not EVEN flying! Out of 3 pilots in the club that use CC120HV, 2 of them had 2 blow up! Thats pretty bad odds

Are these that are catching fire come with the combo deals? I have one of the old style that I bought by itself and have flown it for over 20 flights in my 700e and it works perfectly. This heli is a blast to fly.Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.

so...

if your cc 120 catches your heli on fire, you want another cc 120.

is this correct?

For the UK if it can be proved that the manufacturer was neglegent in some way then losses over £250 can be claimed for. So it has nothing to do with what the manufactuer may or may not want to do but part of the legislation for doing business in the UK.

My CC 120 popped 30 seconds into its maiden flight. I sent it in for repair and after 3 weeks of waiting they told me it would be an additional 1-2 weeks for the 120 to come back instock so they could send me a new one. I told them that I did not want another 120 and asked if they could upgrade me to the 160HV. They did at no additional charge and I had it a few days later. Good customer service.

Also, I had a 2 year old 85HV blow a capacitor, for $70 they are replacing it with a new 110HV....not bad.

My favorite part is they don't care.

No: fix
No: we are sorry about your helicopter or experience
No: have a 160HV since we are out of the 120HV

Bottom line

No: customer service and they don't care
IT's what I do.

I don't know about UK law, but the OP is located in New Jersey and is posting about an American company, so it's not exactly relevant.

Kind of a shame that they don't have stock to send you a replacement. I don't think they are obligated to start losing money by giving you free upgrades. They are also in no way obligated to cover collateral damage. The ESC must be mounted so that if it does burn up it doesn't take out other critical components that would prevent you from getting the aircraft safely to the ground. I can't think of a single incident of a lipo fire where the lipo company replaced someone's charred residence. Try sending a letter to Align and complain that one of their ESCs fried your model. You won't even get a response.

I must say the 120HV has had issues and it’s all over the net and other forums. The issues at hand? Way too may fires and failures with this product and it continues at an alarming rate. Castle should recall this product before someone gets seriously hurt or perhaps worse then CC will take notice of how bad this issue is…? With the sue happy culture we have it will end up in litigation by then it will be far too late for them to fix the problem without costing a substantial sum and continued bad press. The CC 120 has a design flaw or possibly suffering from bad manufacturing practices or poor quality materials. I have seen one fail first had and it’s not a pleasant sight.Ugly can be fixed stupid is forever!

I have personally seen two New Heli's come down in flames in the last three weeks because of the Ice 120HV, me and my good friend Cesar were testing his brand new Furion on the friday before the San diego funfly at our club field in Corona CA when on the third flight we heard a loud pop and then we saw the flames he auto and got it back but the fire burned all his electronics, V-bar,Hercules Bec,all the wires burned off HV servos, i told him to call castle right of way because I have heard that they have great customer service, boy was I wrong, not only was the guy he talked to rude, but he tried to tell him it burned up because he was using EC5 connectors instead of using Casle bullet connectors, then I was at the pig roast funfly last saturday when I heard that same pop again and I looked up to see my other friend Scott's brand new fusion coming down in flames, After seeing it with my own eyes I am seriously thinking on pulling all my castle controllers and changeing them out with Kontronic, I never would use Kontronic controllers because they don't have U.S.A. support, but apparently niether does Castle
