if you make a buyer mad just every other month for 5 years and they all tell 2 of there runryder buddies not to buy form you now you are blocked form 90 buyers.
What did this seller do wrong?
Nobody even knows who PM'd who first and he did answer the guys PM less than two hours after he sent it.

Most BUSINESSES don't reply in a couple hours.Usually 48 hours is proper and respectful enough.

i kinda see your side too mcrackin

but really hes not bashing THAT seller hes saying SELLERS in general on RR.

im telling you i have been there and most of the people on here are 100% whoever will pay them first wins and there are a VERY few exceptions to that!! IMHO

also he didnt post the other thread here somebody else did!!!!

also i will agree that nobody knows but the seller who PMed first and i am in no way saying that this seller did anything wrong

look i am GM of a multi million dollar automotive buisness and these guys on RR are cut throat for me thats pretty bad

Congratulations. I just hope he contacted you prior to myself which was 13 minutes after you posted. This is why I replied to the post to allow all RR members I was interested and willing to purchase. I always thought this was proper etiquette so the first come first serve could be observed. Slightly confused at this point on why my pm was not responded to. But I guess that is simply the way things go. Maybe I will be fortunate and the initial sale does not go through for I stated I was able to payal this evening.

Bashing? Really? Just airing my point of view being he did not respond to PM

ok yes he was wrong there if he felt that way he should have sent PM and kept that private
also just because he posted PMed first doesnt make you first to PM

You gave him MINUTES to reply and practically nagged him over it.

According to you it was a hot item and all I would have is minutes so lets keep some consistancy. I can accept that I could have done a better job on my response but I hardly think this is bashing and if he would have anwered PM I would have sent this in a pm not a post but that did not occur. I also allowed for some time after he posted sold. I could be completely wrong but I do not think he had any intention of responding to my PM. Item was sold and that was the end of it also. I have bought and sold on here previously but this was the first time I received no response to a pm.

I have learned to expect nothing in the future communication wise from sellers. I just will not conduct business in that way I will respond to pm's and posts in a timely manner and if I have a deal pending all potential buyers will be aware of it SO OTHER POTENTIAL BUYERS WILL NOT ASSSUME THAT ITEMS MIGHT BECOME THEIRS AND WAIT AROUND FOR AN HOUR OR MORE THINKING THEY HAVE A SHOT AT SOMETHING THEY DON'T.

I also new it was a hot deal which is I waited so intensly hoping for a response to my PM which never came.

Lesson Learned.

PS with all of the bashing pointed at me I find it quite telling that there was not a single comment about the 9 numbered quotes I pointed out that were very flawed That I responded to individually.

Exactly, Sent PM, Sent Another PM, Congratulations. Very smart-elic comments and then start an entire thread about it. I'm shocked Black Jack didn't call you out personally. I am willing to bet he doesn't know about this yet. Have you reached China yet? Gotta be getting close with that hole.

I sure did, I congratulated him sincerely and then mentioned my issue. You may and others might think it was meant smart "allacky" but it was sincere just like the rest of the comment. So after that I posted on this thread in attempt to get differnt points of views on what proper etiquette is. I never menntioned blackjack nor did I intend to call anyone out in this thread.

People made plenty of comments w/o reading entire posts yada yada yada and it is what it is.

I have no concerns about any backlash from this thread nor the people that actually attacked me.

I do think if I had to do it all over again I would have done some things differently but we live and learn.

But yet Jgatorman is basically correct . . . customer service in the commercial world has really gone down the toilet lately. You almost never can get a human without a huge effort, and messages/calls/etc. frequently get ignored. Yet here we are a tight knit group of folks with an intense common interest, and we somehow feel that that is the model of how we should treat our fellow pilots. I call B/S on that! It sucks in the commercial world, and it is just plain uncalled for between two individuals! Corporations hide anyone of useful value from the public to save money . . . plain and simple. We don't save anything by being a$$holes to each other, so why? Is it really going to kill someone to be polite, decent, and, god forbid, responsive? How long does it really take to reply to several PMs in a timely manner? Two digit seconds typically per message at max . . . Can anyone say that they are really so damn busy that they can't afford that, or have we just all become a-holes?

I really don't get it . . . If I am buying something, eBay or whatever, I pay within minutes of the accepted offer. I fully expect (and most of the time get) acknowledgement from the seller of the deal, as well as when it ships, as well as tracking info. If I have questions, they are answered in a timely manner . . . Perhaps we should do like eBay - post a for sale, and an end date, and take the best offer by that time . . . and reply to each and every question prior to that time. If this was done, and everyone knew it was going on, there would be no excuses. Otherwise, I hold a reasonable period for the first person who expresses interest - money or not. I am not so damn cheap/broke/desperate that I have to grab the first cash waved in front of me!

As far as those who don't communicate, for me it's simple . . . if you can't be bothered to respond to me in a timely manner, I can't be bothered to give you my money. I don't care how cheap your item may be - I won't deal with a douche!

Rant off . . .

Interesting thread. Would someone new to these forums want to buy from people expressing the attitudes presented here? Probably not.

As a seller, I would not want to sell an item immediately without some form of communication between buyer and seller. The buyer who submits payment instantly without any communication is either setting himself up for a potential bad deal or the seller is going to get hit in the end with complaints that the item is not as it was described. How many people on RR have complained that the ad DID NOT accurately describe the item. When asking questions, you can sometimes figure out if the seller is being honest or not or if the buyer is really interested or not.

It is true that there is risk buying and selling on these forums which is why it is best to steer clear and just buy new. Even though the risk is actually quite small, it isn't worth it. Even on eBay, if you see the item early enough, you have time to ask questions and do a little research before committing to a bid.If you are going to sell, allow time to answer questions, a little communication can make the transaction go a lot smoother and will keep both buyer and seller happy. No response, I don't buy, plain and simple.

What is a timely manner?

The entire time elapsed was less than 2 hours.
From the time it was listed and sold was an hour and a half.

The OP of this thread is being unreasonable and after reading his reply in the ad,I would never consider replying to him if it were my ad.

Matt is very fair when selling things, if you had sent the first pm you would have gotten them. I live 10 miles from him and we fly together. I pmed him on a set of blades right after he listed them only to be told that he had already gotten a pm from someone on here who wanted them. It would have been much easier for him to sell to me, but he held them for the first guy. Your posting "sent a pm" is meaningless and has no bearing on the sale since you have no way of knowing if someone was faster than you.Nick Crego

Thanks Blackjack. I appreciate your comments like I said I was not upset about the not getting the sale only the communication. The term I used was miffed defined as annoyed. I quicky was over it and then decided to ask about appropriate etiquitte. Thanks again for your response and by your response I would have to assume that you in someway understand where I was coming from. I look forward to future corespondence. Thanks and have a great day.
