Weird engine issues
Hi, i need help on some weird engine issues...

I have had my heli now for 2 years, running an OS 55 hyper and have had only 1 crash. The weird issue is that whenever i run the engine at any speed under 100%-power it sputters for a split second.

I can still fly it no problem, but the tail wags a little bit when the engine catches again and its constantly jumping/diving 1". It is SUPER annoying.

I notice that much of it goes away when i run the engine on the lean side, but the downside is clearly that my engine is red hot after a 15-minute flight.

I asked someone at the field and he suspects it's my tubing/fuel lines and clunk only because i havent changed them in 2 years. I doubt thats it but what do i know.

PLEASE HELP!

Check you jets on your carb they may have some crap in them also. Just take the needles out and blow fuel through them.

tubing
Ok, ill try replacing the tubing and see...

But how on earth could that be the problem? They don't see gummy to me...

I guess i am just trying to figure out how old tubing causes the engine to chop...

Ok here is how it was explained to me and how I understood it. As the fuel line is exposed to nitro fuel it starts getting softer and softer. Eventually it gets so soft that as you spool up the heli and start using more fuel and using it faster it begins to collapse the fuel tubing against its self thus creating a "lean condition". When you come off the throttle there isn't as much pressure in the line and it stops collapsing against its self and "richens the engine back up". I hope I explained it so you can understand it. I have trouble putting things in words some times.AMA 685330 IRCHA 3966

I have also heard of the mysterious pinching fuel line effect...sometimes hard to detect, but indeed annoying...good luck
