i have both
i prefer hirobo products
but the x50 is more livley out of the box on the std set up
the flip/roll rate on the x50 is fantastic
even with the 50 hyper the x50 is a power house
but i wouldn't get rid of my sdx50

the belt drive x50 canopy is very hard to see in poor/dull light
and the belt requires a lot of constant adjustment were as the sdx50 is fit and forget

if you want a multi adjustable head the x50 hasn't got one
the sdx50 has a fully adjustable head (look up Dr Bens posts on how to set them up and what each pivot hole will do)

Hirobo anything over...

I had a Raptor Titan 50 and then bought a Hirobo EVO 50 as a spare. The Raptor ending up being the spare. As Payne says the Raptor is a little quicker, at least mine was, than the EVO. The Raptor was lighter and would flip and roll faster and just seemed quicker but I still preferred the EVO over the Titan. Sold the Titan last fall and moved all the electronics to a Hirobo SDX. As others have said it is a fantastic flying heli. It is quick and tracks like a dream. The EVO is back to being a spare but I wouldn't sell it except to get another SDX.

Comparison.
I currently have a Titan and an Evo. I like both but the Evo feels so locked on. I think I'm leaning towards an SDX but would love to hear more input. Do any of you flyers think the OS 55 would be a better choice or is the OS 50 enough power for the SDX?
Also wondering if there is anything with the SDX you might change
when building it (ie delrin gears, auto hub, anything?)

Thanks,

The Titan is NOT the same as an X50.

the titan isn't in the same league as the x50

with my sdx50 I fitted the delrin maingear (as recommended by Hirobo) as I fitted the os55 and I fitted the hardened blade bolts (now std in the kit)
after having problems with the os55 i've got a new 50 hyper to go into the model
the 55 worked fine for just over 12 months and then started to play up, after messig about with it for a few months now and it still isn't right its going as my spare/back up engine so i can enjoy my flying without the constant tinkering trying to get the engine right

Been a Raptor man for years,i still fly the Titan se which i still like, parts are easy to get and easy to work on,im sure the X50 will be the same,a few months ago i could not make up my mind between the X50 and the SDX,i took a chance and went for the SDX as it was going for a good price,so i went for the Hpm version, first of all the quality is fantastic over other helis i have built, after the first flight i was amazed how smooth and steady it flies,it was a bit on the slow side compared to the Raptor, but followed advice from dr Ben how to change the head,a few little minor things i changed the landing skids a little to low and changed the canopy decals, however one of the most important things i found was the support one gets on the hirobo section from dr Ben and the other guys, the Sdx is a great heli

Comparisson
I know the Titan is not even close to an X50. I was comparring the Titan to an Evo. I just think the evo quality is a notch above the Titan. So I would expect the SDX to have the nod over the X50. Sounds like pilots with experience on both machines are are feeling the same way. I would love to fly both machines before I buy one, but theres not to many heli pilots in South Dakota. Thanks for all your input. I think I am going to get an SDX.

I only changed the main gear to delrin one to get rid of the noise from the standard gear and the paddles to Funkey's carbon. The Funkey paddles are slightly heavier than standard plastic without any weight insert but got more surface area and gave me all the cyclic that I ever wanted for 3D - on standard head set up. I flew with standard Radixs and love it very much.

Now my SDX is 12S electric and FBL with Vbar. Still has a lot of fine tuning on the Vbar to get it where I want it / comparing to the excellent nitro w/ FB feels that I had before.
