Spectra G and gy611
Hey guys, I have a problem with my tail on my Spectra. It was flying nice, about 2 weeks ago there were no issues. This weekend I have tried to figure out what was causing my tail to kick left and right. The heli had no rough landing or crash. Everything seems ok. I have went over and over it. What could I be missing? AGHHHHH!! The only difference is hotter weather. Thoughts anyone? The sensor for the 611 is not strapped down. What are you guys using for gyro tape? Does the hot weather affect this tape by softening it? Im using a role from heliproz its green I forget the name. Ill try to find it on website. When watching the tail rod the servo is twitching back and forth due to vibration. What could be the problem? I was looking at the sensor tape and it looked like the sensor was moving too much. It was still stuck to heli pretty good though. Could this be the problem?

why would it fly great 2 weeks ago, and then change like that without touching gain? My gain is 73 (JR radio) I played with this down to I think about 63 with no difference.

If the temp change has been huge , the motor may now be too rich; any exhaust smoke ??

Green mount tape is Zeal tape ? that's what I use , never been a problem .

A good gain # to get on the 611 screen is around 31, seems to work for most helis...

my gain was high at 44 but I have not changed settings from when heli was flying good. The temperature is about 30 degrees difference. I had played with the gain a little today but dont remember how much I decreased the gain, I didnt notice any change in tail. When I used the zeal tape I doubled the tape and then used metal plate then two more layers of tape and then sensor. How is your setup?

I have one piece of 3m red back tape. You could also ck that you have no parts binding from the servo back by taking the ball link off at the servo and moving it front to back. You could also ck the bearings in the tail grips to see if they are worn.

Good call on the tail bearings,
Check those and regrease the
Thrust bearings.

If that don't work..
Your welcome to come down here
And I can have a look as well

all parts look good no binding everything smooth from servo through tail grips, That was my first thought.

I have just a single piece of green Zeal tape ; it's the approx 1/4" thick stuff , with a very loose velcro "safety" wrap !

Any idea of your head speed ? too low and the gyro can have problems keeping up .....

I found the problem! I checked this heli from top to bottom, even pulled the motor to check bolts underneath on frame. My hands hurt from screwing! Anyway It was the servo connection. It looked like it was connected, but when I pushed it into the GY611 it went in further. I cant believe this! I should have checked the obvious stuff first. But The servo and gyro was working on the ground. Heres what I think was happening. The tail would kick because it lost and regained servo connection. I was very lucky to figure this out before getting off the ground. Thanks everyone for your input! I flew tonight and the heli flew even better than before.

servo plugins
A little tip for the future is to use a line of hot glue on the servo plugs where they go into the rx and gyro amp..Make sure the glue conects to the rx and plug in to keep them flom vibrating out..Cheap fix and easy..
