Fury 55 plastic grey ball links are loose
Hey guys, in the middle of some routine maintainance on my Fury 55 right now am I am noticing that the grey plastic ball links for the hiller and bell control rods have a bit of slop in them. I only have about 25 flights on this machine right now and I was wondering is there any way to re-size the links to make for a tighter fit or am I just better off replacing the links with new ones. I will be ordering some new ones for back up, but I have heard in the past of people sizing there ball links for a good fit and was not quite sure on how to go about doing it. Thanks

You can heat them up with a heat gun. I hit them for about 10 sec while rotating the link. It tighten them right up.

if you think they are loose then replace them, cheap insurance. BTW the links have different sides, one bigger than the other when you go to snap them on. BUT they work either way from what I am told.

That is true, they will work either way. The gray links were made for slightly larger diameter rods, that is the only difference from the black MA links.Team Synergy/Rail, Team Scorpion, YS Engines, VelTye

The links were never really a good fit right from a fresh build. They are ok but I always thought they could be tighter. But believe me, I wouldn't ever fly the thing if I was worried about one coming off!. That's why I was asking about how to size the links to make for a good fit. I will put some new ones on though, and try to size them if needed. It is cheap insurance. Thanks, Russ

I always thought the high side of the taper on the link went on first, as they are directional.Chris

The links are directional as noted, but for fine tuning most parts of set up you'll sometimes need to put them on the opposite way. Other than needing to push a little harder, there is no risk to doing this; they will not crack or otherwsie fail.

The links always bed in as described on MA models as the black oxide coating on the balls buffs out. The links are quite durable and are not worn out at 25 flights. The heat gun trick works well. Just don't overdo it.

plastic grey ball links
There is a part number MA0133-1 that corresponds to the 3mm ballinks versus the old MA2700-10 greay ball links.

It appears that both are for 3mm rods. Is that correct.

What is the diference between them?

Need a few of these for an FBL head I'm builddng.
