hmmmm. . .

suppose I build a time machine and decided to get up to some mischief.

I tamper with the original source of the Bible, say, and put in the passage that you should dress in animal costumes to confuse people at their birthday parties, and doing this you'll go to heaven.

how many utter morons/idiots/assholes/w23kers do you think would take it literally? How many?

would you also agree that some would think to themselves: "well, obviously this is rather silly, and hence clearly this is just a load of crap".

in the same context that passage in the Koran could be something like that or it could refer to the defence of territory or in a different context. But it doesn't take any imagination to know that those of a sane disposition would ignore such nonsenses. The same goes for the Bible and it's views against homosexuals - it's all a load of crap at the end of the day.

no doubt our pollen sniffer who escaped rehab/the darts would cite raging arrogance and other such tosh against me.

Unlike Bill Clinton, I don't need to parse "is"...The meanings of the q'ran passages are quite clear....My translation:.."If you are not muslim, if you do not submit, you die."..

Discuss amongst yourselves....
Like I said, when you fail to cite the passages you claim to be referring to, there's nothing to discuss.
Kelo...Regardless of the "intent"...The outcome is that the government deprived an individual of property for the financial gain of the state...That doesn't require discussion, does it?
I don't even know why you mentioned the Kelo case in the first place. As for 'discussing' it, I merely pointed out that you're initial claim regarding it, was incorrect. That shouldn't require much discussion, should it?

Your claim was that Kelo had 'ZERO' rights to his property. The fact that he did have rights to his property proves your claim wrong. It's not a matter of 'nuance', it's a matter of being right or wrong.

I have already done so, and this claim is also wrong. If you are not prepared to attempt to support it, I don't know why you keep bothering to reply.
I 'm just not a cut n' paste kind of guy...
You mean you're not the kind of guy who makes even the slightest attempt, to support his opinion with facts?

Geez...They're facts to me ...Yours is the conjecture....

Kelo is not debatable in the frame work of the Constitution....To do so gives credence to the perpetraitors....

Too many things have been posted here and elsewhere supporting my attitudes on islam....Not worth me bothering to try to redo what's been done....If you support them....Good luck.

LOL This is my point. How can we discuss the 'facts' you are referring to, when you won't tell us which ones they are? Don't you even remember even a phrase in the Quran, which made you think that 'Islam is responsible for much turmoil in the west'? Surely you must remember one?
Kelo is not debatable in the frame work of the Constitution....To do so gives credence to the perpetraitors....
Remember, the original point was the right that the Palestinians had to their land. In this regard, Kelo is irrelevant, and your constitution is about as irrelevant as one could get.

The Quran is either responsible for 'much turmoil in the west', or it isn't. Perhaps you didn't research it enough, if you have to look to other people's opinions to be able to form your own, as to what it actually says.

I remember you now, from another thread. You were the guy who stated that ''we can all agree that the advent of Islam killed off any scientific advances in the Islamic world'' - or words to that effect. Obviously you had never heard of, the Canon of medicine, the House of Wisdom, or even the Islamic Golden Age. So forgive me for thinking that your research might not be quite what it could be on this one, either

Happy flyin'

I live in the now...Not the then...All of history seems to be idiots repeating the mistakes already made by other idiots..Don't much care about what has been attributed to the Golden Age of islam...net is now,..Ignorant people suppressed by an evil ideology..

Bottom line...I learned all I really needed to know about islam on 9/11/2001...All my readings since have only confirmed what I believed then...

If someone wants to make a coherent argument as to why my loathing is misplaced, please do so...In the context of the present.
Looking at what was only makes what is the worse.

Dusty...I gotta ask...You wouldn't be musilm, would you?....Just askin'....

Oh I think we can all safely say we live in the now, which is why I thought it strange at the time that you mentioned 'the advent of Islam' to try to make a point.

I was merely using this example to demonstrate your lack of knowledge on the subject, despite what you thought you knew.
..Ignorant people suppressed by an evil ideology..
All this talk about evil makes me wonder if you're a Christian. Are you? ...just askin'

Ok, here goes. You misinterpreted what you claim to have read in the Quran. Argue away...
Dusty...I gotta ask...You wouldn't be musilm, would you?....Just askin'....
Nope, although I come from a Church of Scotland (protestant) background, I don't believe in any Gods or demons. I live in reality.

Yeah, so you were saying, but unless you are prepared to back up your opinion with facts, there's not much point in you repeating the same thing over and over again.
Whether it is true or not...There's always Wikipedia and Snopes....
Whether 'what' is true or not? How can we check if something's true, if you won't tell us what it is?

This is too funny.
Everything ANY of us "know" is what we think we know..Which makes all knowledge suspect...
NOW you're beginning to understand why we expect opinion to be supported by facts.
Livin' the dream, baby...Livin' the dream....
When you're ready for a discussion based on reality, be sure to let us know.
