I will add my .002 now that I have a bunch of flights on mine after switching it over.

Most of last summer I did not fly the Protos much. I decided to swap it out to FBL this spring and add a full size tail servo. It really made a huge difference in the fun factor and I am very impressed.

microbeast v2. I actually just sold it a week ago after testing it during this spring. It flew fine, I just like the way the Mini V-Bar flies much better and it is easier to set up to fly the way I want it to fly.

It seems to me that all mainstream FBL brands, when working properly, make our helicopters easier to fly and give us more control over their performance. Consequently, all of these systems when installed correctly and tuned to each pilot's flying style yield numerous benefits over flybared models. My only FBL experience is with the BeastX and when there are no vibrations it works great. I learned the hard way that you can crash a premium FBL model in the blink of an eye if you do not check for and eliminate vibrations (after rebuilding from a crash for example). The consensus at the field where I fly is that the V-Bar is the premium system out there. It is one of the most expensive units available and seems to be worth the money to many experienced pilots that I talk to.

I went BeastieX on the Mini and CGY750 on his big brother Protos. Both are now running full size tail servo. The Mini was good on 3500G tail ... but is way better on 8900G.

The Protos is running 470 blades. I'm waiting for the low head block before converting the Mini to 350.

and had reliability issues with the SK720.
my mini protos with a SK-720 was very reliable, the belt drive of the mini gave me very low vib scores which the SLing of the 720 loves.

what kind of "reliability issues" were you having ?
