I am in the process of converting a 700N to FL. I bought the new main rotor housing HN7095 and I am or was going to use the stock, longer, main shaft. I am wondering if the new rotor housing was designed to be used ONLY with the short main shaft. The geometry seems to be off. I put the long links to what the 3G manual states and my swash is about 15mm from the bearing block. The mixing levers are angled downward and the main grips are not at zero degrees pitch unless I lengthen the rods several turns. Any Ideas? I am going to order a short main shaft and linkage kit but was hopping to avoid spending more $$.

You need the shorter shaft ......
to make it work. When you modify the stock shaft you cut around 9mm and that is how you get those parts to get that close and become one.

hi Sluggo-

You'll need the shorter FBL shaft (H70035) when using the new Align head (HN7095). When I switched from the old FBL head to the new one-piece head, I also needed the ALIGN 700EFL Linkage rod(A) set (H70066) to get it right.

You'll find more info under this thread:

Ya I already have the short shaft and short links. Just waiting on my new head block to get here. Far as I know though you can run the new head block with the long shaft just the washout arms will not be level at 0 stick.

Hey J I did two of them for my 600 at work. I shorten a total of 10MM. Here are the before and after pics.

Ok, so if you buy the new main rotor housing then you need the short main shaft, short linkages H70066, and it should fit. Align or an Align rep should help us all out and put out some updated information on FL conversions.
