I have read that when you power off the reciever and power back on without turning off the tx to the light will stay blinking due to reciever thinks it lost power. Wondering if its ok to fly like that it still links up. I know its better to turn everything off but will it be ok?

If its blinking, that means there was a problem that you need to address. the receiver is fully operational.

Under the conditions you described, turning the RX off and on while leaving the TX powered, you should have no problems. The software is simply telling you that something (you, in this case) interrupted power to the RX. Since you know the cause, there is nothing sinister afoot. Go fly.

On the other hand, if you've been flying and it's blinking when you LAND, then you need to figure out what's up with your power source before going airborne again. That would be an indication that the power to the RX momentarily dropped below about 3.5 volts, a bad thing indeed while airborne.

So if you go flying with blinking lights it will work perfectly but you'll have no idea when you land if you actually had a problem or not.
