How do you have it setup? Are you running the curves, or a gov? What blades?

What are your needle set?

If you don't have your throttle setup like on the 20 FYI thread above, do it...Also do the crossover cooling on the bottom of the cooling cowl...This should be done on any engine...

Joe,
You can also look in my gallery.. Its a 3/8 triangle stock glued to the bottom side of the cooling cowl with a piece of bass wood glued to to the triangle stock, or what ever you want to use like thin light ply just barely resting on the middle fin on the 20...On the PUH's engines you do the same distance..

You position the triangle stock so the thin bass wood is not stressing the tri stock...Ruff the plastic where the tri stock is glued....

This will get rid of the hot spots on bottom where air bypasses the bottom fins and have more even cooling...

I used this method years ago on my Futura SE....

No its on the muffler side where most of the air goes if no guide vanes are installed...There are guide vanes in Century cowl, but I still put it on the exhaust side...

Ok install it on the exhaust side so it blows air towards the intake side, Got it.

I will go make something up right now.

Thanks Bill

I use Ca, and also use it to fuel proof the wood..Forgot to include this, hehe

Using that bean again, you can use any most light material that can take the vib, and heat.. The wood works fine for me, and you can paint it if you want...
Back when I was flying Futuras, they would have to wide of cowling where most of the air will go, the path of least resistance..So, I lined the whole inside with thin balsa to keep the air close to the fins...You get into a habit of maximizing cooling when you realize how much difference it makes...
