hey guys ive been told to watch out for that the heli wants to tip over when spooling up but this is rediculous. It takes me like 3 minutes trying to get the headspeed high enough to be able to take off. It want to tip to left so i try to counteract it with right when spooling up doesnt work. Then all of the sudden it hits a sweet spot and all is good. Whats the trick?

I fly a different brand of FBL, but if it takes you three minutes to get your headspeed up enough to takeoff,,,,, something is seriously wrong with your setup.

As long as you don't give the 3G a lot of cyclic one way or the other you can fly it off of the ground if you're careful. I have the 3G on a 450 now and it comes right up without issue. When I had it on a 90 it did the same.

Keep going you will get used to lifting off a FBL heli. I can not lift off as slow as I desire.

The handling on take off varies a lot with the system. I made absolutely no changes in technique on takeoff, landing, or in autos with my 750. No bad manners whatsoever.

If it creeps that means that it is getting a rudder command to move.

Setup maybe
I have been taking off with 20 mph winds. The heli lifts straight up.I give it.... Like no input.

1. If it takes you 3 minutes to spool up, you might have a setup issue.

2. If the heli tilts to the left on spool up, you might have a setup issue.

3. You could try another FBL system, BUT.... You are still going to have to set it up.

You might want to make sure that all of the servos are going in the correct direction.

And go back over your setup.

Have you updated to 2.1? When I first got my Align 3G FBL, it was 2.0, the tendency to tip over was noticable and I thought the 2.1 fixed that. However I still manage my Trex 600 as not to give any initial stick movement when its on the ground before take-off as sometimes it would want to tip over when you spool it up. Some friends in the field would try my T6 and you can see them struggling fearing of that tip over, and sometimes it would want to. I'm not sure if this is adjustable using a PC to program the Align 3G.

In my SDX50 (Beastx) that tip-over during spool up fear is nil. Its just the 3G is different during take-off that you need to get used too compared to the BeastX which takes-off like a flybarred one.

everyone seems to be bashing the 3g (not here) but this is my first fbl and it was very good as you can see from bert kammerer ect flying it. I know hes not the average but this thing must be setup right i would assume. Theres gotta be some special tricks that only the pros know

Keep in mind that:

The FBL system will take a small input and increase it until the heli moves. So those small corrections (while the heli is grounded) are like stick banging. The heli will be all over the place.

The key is to just let it lift off.

If the heli is drifting without any input. Then your control lock gain is to low, and you need to increase it. Else, let go of the stick, till it is light on its skids.

I hope that helps.
