I keep gravitating back to lurking here on the gasser forums.
I am thinking about taking the plunge for a next winter project. If next winter comes around and I havn't changed my mind, and I still have a job I'm gonna get into this somehow
So onto the "what if" question.
What if I get this combo?
http://www.centuryheli.com/products...l?currentid=771
What would I regret out of the kit? If G-10 plastic is like old raptor frames I would be happy with that.
My big "what if" of course is the motor. I want to use a starter, not a pull rope for one thing. I am not a big 3-D flier. Just loops and a little inverted flight. I am happy with my Raptor 30 but also like the power of my 55, but if I had to make a choice I would keep my 30
Would I be regretting the motor in this combo wishing I had got a Toxic motor or something else?
I guess all I really ask is that it start and run with an acceptable level of vibration and power. (Duuugh)
Nobody in my area flies gassers that I know,so I would mostly be on my own except for the forums.
I think this combo "looks" pretty good, but I don't even know what questions to ask. We all gotta start somewhere

This is exactly the combo I had when I was running the Radikal, and I can honestly say that beyond a shadow of a doubt you will not be disappointed in any way with the power or reliability of the motor.

The Zenoah motor is pretty vibration free right out of the box, and getting a mod motor for sport flying is probably not necessary imo. That combo looks like a pretty dang good deal imo.

If it can't hover, it ain't worth flying.

Fred, I guess you kind of want to compare Gassers to your 30 and 50 Glow Helis, well I don't know how long you been around, but if you ever driven an old Chevy or Ford car with a Big Block they have gobs of smooth tractable pulling power with a wide power-band that can pull hard and smooth from the bottom and push tall gearing on top, and that's how Gassers Helis are, for the most part Glow's are usually lighter and have a bit more snap, but when that snap peters-out the Gassers keep on pulling smoothly, so if you want to fly around doing smooth powerful maneuvers or just smooth flying you should like it, many people fly them and love them for sure,
as for the products in the combo I don't want to get pinked-out for saying to much, so I will just say many people are flying all those idem's and are content with them

Thanks for the replies.
I have in no way made a Radikal decision. I havn't even seen a gasser fly yet.
I know the helicopter I posted the link to is kind of an entry level package.
I like the idea that it comes with both a flybar and flybarless head.
I could use the beast on something else until I got the motor dialed in.
Iduno. By the time I get around to buying it,it will probably only come with one head.
I have a lot more reading and lurking to do before I get out my card and do any ordering.
I like the sound of Rotormonkey's experience with it. For now though, thats the one I have my sights on.
