The Helicommand HC3-Xbase would be a really good option. I've converted all of my stuff over to flybarless using the Helicommand systems and there's not a chance I would ever go back!!!

Does the helicommand have low and high swash leveling feature like vbar futaba ?
With the HC3-X series you level the swash at mid stick. That is it.
How customizable is the helicommand ?
You can adjust it to feel exactly the way you want.
where does the hellicommand rate ? above 3g and the beast ? Is it on par with vbar gcy750 skookum ? or above any of them ?
Folks who have flown both rate the HC3-X series on par with V-bar.
Why did i ever choose to fly heli's the choices is getting harder by the day, i've been looking online for months now and still have not decided i'm almost about to pull the trigger on a futaba, just waiting for a release date on the adapter. Though i must make a decision within the next 1 or 2 days for this is keeping me out of sleep at night and it's starting to show...
There is no need to lose sleep over this Any of the systems (well, maybe with the exception of the 3G) that have been discussed can be tuned to fly well with wide range of machines and flying styles. You really can't go wrong.

but i want high and low level swash levelling, it's more efficient
on the system and on the mechanics, yes it is not the most important thing and one wouldn't really notice, but i like to be precise in this regard. So far i know only vbar and futaba offer this, not too sure about skookum ? Where do you adjust it on the futaba ?

The HC3 sounds good and i see it offers bail out which is very nice. but more opinions is required.

Yes the skookum 720 has this also
Then IMHO you should give the HeliCommand HC3-Xbase @ $250 a try. it is a very solid/connected feeling system. Setup is easy via the included PC interface.
that is a very good price and once they are updateable online this would be a good place to start, how much in dollars will the update to full "SX" cost ?

From The HC website:

The HC3-Xbase can be upgraded at anytime to the full functionality of the HC3-SX.

For this upgrade the unit needs to be sent to the manufacturer. Please allow a handling time in house of 2-3 days.

Price: € 275,60 (excl. VAT, packaging and postage)

I own a vbar 5.1, BeastX and 3x CGY750's. Honestly they are all great....if setup right...if setup wrong they all will stink.

BeastX...works great...probably the best value out there...this system probably has the highest satisfaction of all because of its low price point. 200$ and if you dont like it...someone will buy it quick.

Vbar...probably one of the most refined of all the vstab's out there, high success rate because of setup instructions from Mr. Mel...requires a smooth running heli (electric does better) highest price point of all systems (pro version)

CGY750...newest system from one of the oldest most respected companies in RC at a reasonable price. Initial Setup was designed to be very easy, yet instructions are awful.. truth is it requires alot more work and know how to get a refined setup....expert settings seem to have been designed by NASA engineers for other NASA engineers. aside from that this system really works well, and is easily a favorite of those who are brand new to FBL as well as those who have tried other FBL and have not liked it for one reason or other.. basic setup and tuning will yield you a heli that "feels like a flybar yet has some of the benefits of FBL." To get your heli flying like a well tuned Vbar heli or even BeastX...will require expert tuning.

Truth is they really are all great and after understanding how to set each one of these systems up properly they will all fly awesome with only minor differences.

In the end why own just 1...

Fusion 50 CGY750 YGE90HV
Outrage 550 BeastX Jive100
Gaui X5 Vbar 5.1
Gaui X5 CGY750

See the table here for differences:
http://www.helicommand.com/index.ph...id=99〈=en

The main one between HC3-Xbase and HC3-SX surely is the self-levelling and rescue feature of the SX.

Edit: table was posted above already...sorry...missed that.

Cheers,
Joachim

Production is starting next week. It will take a few weeks for the systems to make their way over here. There will be plenty to go around.

Depends what you like really. But IMHO the best way to test a FBL system is with a series of tests.

Do sharp stick inputs on cyclic and see how it stops.

Do piros and stops

Do piros and FF

Is it locked in FFF?

Do piros and pitch pumps together

I think the best is ac3x (so i have heard) and vbar 5.1, then skookum/beastX, then futaba (until new piro soft is out, then 3G and curtis.

Not sure where the 3gx will fit in.

Trouble is a lot of pilots cannot even tell the difference and they are so excited about FBL even the 3G impress them, not saying there is anything wrong with 3G for a first FBL system, but sometimes people just say its the best when they have not really done enough flights or tests.

Once again, please don't forget the HC3-X series I know they are not widely known but those who have flown them rate them very near the top of the list as far as flight performance.

I have been flying them for just about a year and I can't say enouph good about them. With the X Base being only $250, is a very affordable for the average pilot..
