Help!! I have slight rub on my main tail drive gear. It looks to be rubbing on the plastic thats just below where it connects to the tail gear bearing set? I've tried "tweaking" the bearing blocks but that didn't help. Any Ideas????

My conclusion is that the auto-rotation gear is slightly warped on one side. Guess I'll order a new one

Yea, I had this happen before myself (now that I can see what it was you were talking about). the other alternative is to dremel it out a little. Those pale blue gears are a little softer material, and tend to show more warp than the darker blue or the white ones. I still have a set of the pale blues, but save it formy last resort spare set. The darker ones are cheap on flea-bay, when you buy them in sets.

Are those dark blue ones any good or are they just as cheap??

The plastic is actually of a better quality, not as soft. The design is the same. In my spares I have the dark blue, white, and the pale blue. The light blue has the different one way bearing mounting. If you decide to swap out these, do yourself a favor, buy the newer style one way moutning, and buy the gears both main and auto. Sounds expensive, but again flea-bay is your buddy. The newer design is so much better (just not the plastic). The design allows you to swap out the main gear easier, and provides a more even plane for the gear to rotate on.

Maybe you assembled the main drive gear assembly wrong. I would take it apart and check it before I go grinding the frames. May be you accidentally put the brass washer between the two gears instead of on top of the main gear.

Revo,

Yea I went threw it all already. The auto gear is definitely warped. You can see the gear "bob" down as you turn it, otherwise it lines up perfectly. Thanks for the input tho...

I went and bought the Align auto gear from the LHS. Its identical EXCEPT that stands about 1mm higher than the one I had. Rubbing gone. My clone is nice but the original is best is some aspects.
