I have a Protos 500 with a 401 gyro and 3500G tail... I can not get ride of the fast wag no matter the gain...

Any thoughts gents?

Are you sure you are adjusting the gain? Do you have the gyro configured for the correct setting (1520uSec 333hz)? What hole on the tail servo horn do you have the ball in?

+1 Yep. Sounds like a mechanical gain problem to me as well.

You probably already know this but don't overlook the usual suspects: make sure the tail action is VERY smooth. Make sure the gyro does not have any wires flapping around. You might want to try a thinner/firmer mounting pad or put a strap on the gyro. Unwanted movement of the gyro itself will cause wag.

I don't know if you already changed the tail compensation direction, but double check that you did if you changed mounting location.

It turned out that I had my gyro setting in gyro but because i was running a park flyer and did not have an aux2 my gyro was set in gear.. Glad it turned out to be a easy fix...

She is solid as a rock now! :-)
