Nice, clean build with all the right parts. Yeah, I have Jive envy too right now $$$--still waiting for my money tree to sprout.

Kind of interested in those Punch batts. I saw them browsing around at Nankin and hadn't heard of them before.

Get your BEC yet?

Ok, so it's the 17th. I am just as excited as you are to see another 6hv take flight. Get it?

Oh, and just when I started getting used to mine, I get a promo email from Nankin for the 7Hv. Decisions, decisions......

You typically have to enlarge the holes in the frame with the JR servos.

Jag,
I running most the same servo cyclic but 8900 on tail and v bar. I am also looking at using a jive. Will the 80 jive do the job?
Please explain details on how it flies better on the jive. What things did it make better? Details please. Are you using the jive bec too? Thanks

Fitting 8717 in 6hv.
Just do a little dermal work to enlarge the holes and they will fit just fine.

the way I mounted them in mine is by dremeling out the top of the top hole, and the bottom of the bottom servo hole until there was enough room to fit them both in at once. The main thing you need to ensure is that they both will fit without twisting on each other or with minimal touching of the two servos. It's a fairly easy mod to do, so just take it nice and easy when you are working with the dremel tool. I did mine by hand with a flat file so that way I wouldn't take off too much. Takes a lot longer that way though!

Here is ours.

Watch at YouTube

So far, the only part that is showing wear is the tail slider ring that is secured by two screws as the bearing surface. It would have been good if it had bearing there.

Selling everything to buy more 6HV
I was out of the hobby for a little while and when I came back a friend of mine named Simon was really ringing out these Compass helis. Right off the bat I put a Compass head on my trex 600 because I loved the simplicity of the design. After about a month of flying with him watching his 7HV and 6HV I picked up one of the 6HV. I set it up with TORQ servos all the way around and a full size VBAR.

Today was the maiden flight and I can't quit calling everyone and telling them how awesome this heli is. The design is first rate, the parts count is low and simple and the heli fly's better than anything else I have ever flown.

Right now I am limited to some older batteries but I have 8 x of the gens ace on there way now with and a hyperion phase monitor and I can't wait to start really bangin the sticks on this machine.

*just sold my t600 tonight (time to get a second 6HV)

Let me know what you think of all the wire routing (full vbar takes up a lot of room)

I love the grommets on the motor wires! Never would've thought of that myself. I've seen people use fuel tubing before though. Whatever gets the job done, right?

Even better today
So today I got a chance to take the heli out with the canopy. I new the setup was good today but am still waiting on my batteries. I had to get 1 flight though. I went down the street to the local rc field and the wind was about 10 kt. One of my friends met me down there to check it out. I lifted off and did a front flip to inverted. I let off the sticks to see out stable it was and the funny thing was it just stayed. my friend and I started talking about it and even with the wind gusting it just sat there. I waited at least 30 seconds before I made an input. Probably could have waited longer. This heli fly's like it's on rails.

I did get my phase sensor today so I am adding that now and learning vbar e gov. for the first time. ugh

Hopefully the new batteries come tomorrow and I can start breaking them in for the weekend.

I will get some video up soon.

Wow! I really like the Green/Orange one. Usually I'm all green and blue, but with the splash of other colors in there it looks pretty sharp.

Thanks. That one is still in the works. We've come up with that design when MaskPro was supplying Justin's canopies. We are trying to duplicate the design with Fusuno and it still needs a bit of work.

Hopefully, they will nail the design including the purple in the back of white area. Also, the 6hv has the prominent white rather than prominent green. The bottom windshield line needs to be pulled down to increase the green area.

TORQ Servos
Abwomack. I see you're running the TORQ servos on your 6HV. I'm looking at a similar set up with the Spekctrum ar7200BX once it comes out. Also looking at the helijive. I was wondering if you had to make any modifications or any tips you might offer as far as installing the servos?

Torq
They are just drop in. The only thing I had to do was partially separate the frames to install the elevator servo. I love the servos. Using the stock torq arms I was able to get my vbar setup perfect.
