Hey All, so I've come a long way in my EXI 500 build. I do however have a small problem. When I spool up my tail is not holding. My gyro settings are:

0: 53.0
1: 30.0

I originally had position zero set at 70 but it would spin around and around wildly all while still on the ground. If I go below 50 I get the same results. I'm using a dx6i, a r6200' gy401 and a futaba s9257. What addition settings do I need to make in order to get this thing steady.

Sounds a lot like your gyro sense is reversed (dip switch on the gyro)

Turn the gain back up, 53 is nothing.

Give right rudder, make sure the tail blades move as to blow the tail to the left. If thats wrong reverse the rudder channel.

Pick up the head and turn the nose left, the tail blades should react the same way if you move the stick to the right. If thats wrong flip the REV switch on the gyro and try it.

easy test. (stolen from MrMel)
Get a tail blade at TDC, fold it to face forward.
When you put your stick to LEFT the tip of the blade should point LEFT (from rear). If it points to the right, reverse the servo.
Then, with same settings, push your tail to the LEFT (nose right), The tail blade should point to the right. If not your gyro dir. is reversed.

Will give it a try. One question though. There is a reveres on the gyro itself, there is a gyro reverse in the transmitter and there is a rudder reverse. Do these cancel each other out or do they all serve a diff function?

You can reverse the servo direction AND the gyro direction
Both have to be correct and they are not the same thing.

Rudder servo reverse tells the nose which way to turn when you move the stick.

Gyro sense reverse changes the way it moves the servo when the gyro rotates.

For example, futaba servos move one way when a given signal is applied where Hitec's move the other. So if you were to have everything working with a Futaba servo, and put a hitec on it would move the other way when the gyro corrected, so you'd have to reverse the gyro.
