Hey guys! I had a question regarding the rear drive torque tube umbrealla gear for the 450 Pro. I just installed the gears, and I noticed the umbrella gear connecting to the TT is to small. The gear on the rear drive shaft is perfect, but they are not connecting. With all the scres tight, the gears do not touch. So I used an extra gear from the front and it works perfect. Then I watched Finless Bob video on the build, and his rear umbrella gear is large, like the one up front. Did Align make a mistake in sending a small gear? Did you guys receive a small gear? Confused?

Right. Both gears are the same size, until I crashed. Then I bought a new set, and the one they sent me is a little, tiny gear. Doesnt even come close to connecting with the other one. I think the piece they sent me is for the T-Rex 250.

So I took some photos of what Horizon / Align sent me. The gear on the left is the one that came with the kit. The one on the right is the one I received in the mail. The new gear does not even come close to the other gear.

Wierd, the 250 does'nt have a torque tube or gears like that, not sure how that gear would have ended up in there.

If you receiver the slightly larger one, it might be a 500 TT gear...

Hey guys! Thanks for responding. I spoke with Horizon Hobby this afternoon. They apologised for the wrong piece being in the right package. (Even though it was not their fault)

To correct the mistake, HH is living up to their reputation, and mailing me 2 free rear torque tube umbrella gears and 2 tail rotor shafts. I have to say, HH is awesome and has the best customer service.

The LEFT umbrella gear is off the T-Rex 450 Pro, the RIGHT is the umbrella gear I just received. That RIGHT umbrella gear is so small, there is no connection between the tail shaft gear and the small gear. I was certain it fit the Align 250, but according to this thread, Align does not make such a machine. I asked if I could mail it back, and HH said just go ahead and throw it away. I'll charge $00.00 to anyone who needs this.

WOW 250TT in the worx

In that case I think its possible it might be a seV2 TT conversion gear...

I think when I had my 450seV2, and 450 Pro the gears were a bit different.... Been a while, but that's my best guess

Pretty sure that's what it is, 450Pro TT gears and 450seV2 TT are diff. I bet conversion gears were shipped to you

How'd you make out installing the V2 TT upgrade? Mine was interferring with the elevator servo, so I had to rotate the servo 180-degrees to accomodate the top of the umbrella gear.

LOL! Building the tail back up this week, and running into this made me pull my hair out. Nothing like ordering parts...waiting...waiting, and when they arrive their the wrong freakin parts. UGH! Anyway, to all who helped me here on this forum, your more than welcome to this gear. I will mail it to you, NO CHARGE.

Heli-on... I used the dremmel and took a hair off of the elevator servo arm(bottom edge) and it worked great for me

Aerial, I have like 8 of those gears but im sure there is someone around who needs them more. Glad you got it sorted out, and you are not the only one to pull hair out.

Interesting...How's the tooth count? Are the the same? Just curious. If it has less number of teeth, you could essentially speed up your tail with it... I'd be curious to play around with the small gear, maybe you space it forward and get a better mesh... Assuming the pitch and angle of the gear allows it to be mated with the opposite drive gear...
