Any suggestions for a trex 450 sev2 drive belt?
I know Align is a good belt, but any upgrades instead of Align brand?
Thanks

Yep you have MicroHeli Upgrades, and HDX. Goto helidirect, and look for HDX Parts & Upgrdes both, and Select HDX 450 SE V5 is compatable with T-rex 450 SE V2 Heli's. I called Helidirect the other day, the guy that awnsered the phone said he Has a 450 Clone, and he uses HDX Parts on his clone. No S**t, right from helidirect.

With a condom on it too. And latex gloves, I supose?

With no explanation that's good advice.
Expresses himself and explanation poorly. I'm just pokeing fun at you. eggmcmuffinplz

The only thing I have seen that was bad were some of the frames for the 450, they made them to thin trying to keep it light, and they cracked from stress.

I have had micro heli heads, and other parts and they were top notice quality. But they cost Way to much.

HDX or Align parts are best.

I have an EXI clone from Xheli. it's 2 years old been crashed about 5 times (guessing, could be more), rebuilt with Align/EXI parts but still the original belt. Still on of my favorite helis to fly!

what is your worry about the belt that you don't want Align?

My crashes are cooler than your flying! ;^)

I stripped it and cost me the left side frame, main shaft, fly bar, blades and bottom plate.
But I guess is my fault, i didn't over thigh it.
I really don't know but I have a spare align and that's the one I going to use tomorrow.
I had before the one that came with the kit and no problems for 6 months.
But now I just looking for any advice.
And you guys been very helpful.

Thx a lot

i love micro heli parts
there one of the few people that offer silver and chrome parts and there fbl head unit looks sick .

tho they use soft metal on some of there parts and some of there items is way over priced.
here is my clone 450.

Regarding belts, all belts have a life span. Keep a flight log with the number of flights, and inspect the belt often. It's a good idea to plan on replacing the belt every 50 flights. Lastly I like to use Dupont Silicone Teflon spray (rubber safe) on the belt because it greatly reduces friction (and wear) and helps the tail drive assembly spin much more freely. I've had excellent success on my Trex450 V2 with these methods.

In my EXI clone the align belts don't last long at all. But the EXI belts last at least 200 flights with little wear in my heli. If you set your tension right there is no reason you shouldn't get at least 100 flights out of each belt. At least this is my experience with 450 belts.

The best tail belt I have found is the Mavrikk kevlar belts.

I would recommend you try this belt over the black rubber run of the mill belts.

Both head unit and tail unit are from cnchelicopter. the tail system has zero slop ZERO! this tail system uses 13 bearings throughout, very smooth no play in it at all.

I've seen those units from CNC helicopter and they did look nice on the website but with your pics they look even better! I'm gonna have to get some soon.
Do you really have a -6 on a 14T pinion? Crazy fast!
I use mine with a 9 or 10T pinion! But I don't like crazy fast headspeeds. I bet you can really make that 450 move! I mean move. The stops and starts on a machine like that will break or bend parts and stuff. I would like to see that fly.

A lot of good compliments about your Heli.
We all want to see it flying!!!
Mr Dan

Now I have a good idea about the 450 belts.
I read on some other forum that Gates make good belts also but I can not find a place to look'em up also Maverikk (did I spell it right?)
I will try also the Dupont Silicone Teflon spray as Sam2B suggested
