I am having a hard time binding the DX4e to the MCPX. When I bind as per instructions and cd that came with heli. The heli always binds in Computer mode not non computer radio mode. I get the motors to spin but no pitch. WHat am I doing wrong? after i bind when i hit the trainer button the pitch moves up and down..

mine was like that when it arrived... what i did was plug in the heli and once it starts blinking

push trainer button and turn on, right after the transmitter starts blinking move rudder to the left and let go of the trainer, once the light goes solid it should work

Mine has the same issue. After 4 flights I have no pitch control. It's stuck on full neg. Can't re-bind in non computer mode. I think this pos will go back where it came from...

Ok, feel better about it today....binding instructions are wrong! Apply left rudder after releasing bind button that should get it working.step 6 did not work for me.

Are you talking about wth the mCPx?

Back to subject, write this binding process down an keep it with your mCPx. It doesn't happen to often but when it does you will of course forgot the cure. Trust me.

Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

Binding a V2 to non computer mode. DX4e, DX5e

1. Disconnect the flight battery from the helicopter.

2.Power off the transmitter and move all switches to the 0 position.

3.Connect the flight battery to the helicopter. The 3-in-1 control unit LED flashes after 5 seconds.

4.Push in on the trainer button or switch while powering on the transmitter.

5. Move the rudder control stick to full left after the transmitter LED lights flash twice.

6. Release the trainer button or switch. Continue to hold the rudder to the full left until the blue LED on the 3-in-1 unit is solid.

7.Release the rudder control stick.

8. Push in on the trainer switch/button. The blue LED on the 3-in-1 control unit flashes to confirm the helicopter is in non- computer mode.

9. Disconnect the flight battery and power off the transmitter.

10. God I hate typing.

yep, binding instructions are wrong. I got so frustrated I called the help line and the tech walked me thru it. Can't remember what I did now, as a week later I got a new DX8 and that thing bound instantly. Machine flys better too. Not sure what's up with that. Instant difference.

Are you saying that what I posted is wrong? Worked fine for me. If it is incorrect, that would be good to know.

a tech at HH also told me that often times the radio is too close to the heli. it should be 5' away to bind correctly. i havnt had issues since.

could be right heli...I really don't remember. I just know that what the tech told me to do, was different than what was shown in the manual. After that, it was fine. And yes, standing too close does cause problems. That was the first thing I was doing wrong.

Having access to the expo, throttle and pitch curves on the more advanced radios does make a huge difference IMO. i used the DX4e radio for a while and was really happy with it, until I switch to the DX6i. It made me look a lot better than i was!!

1oo% correct. I really had my hands full, then programmed up my new DX8 according to the heli manual and it was like "BANG"...perfect hover, perfect settings. Night and day difference. Like a different heli almost.

From the ashes
So got the blade 450 3D put back together. Put a futaba tail servo on it so hopefully no more blow out. Noticed a lot of vibration before I replaced the feathering shaft. Haven't tried it yet but will see tomorrow. Anyone gonna be out Friday?

Wow,my birds handle so nice on my DX4 that I can't imagine needing a better set up. Then again,I'm use to rate gyros and flybars. Now that I have the birds I will up grade to a DX6 just for fun.
