Hopefully latency will be very low with s-bus receivers.
I wish I was good enough to tell the difference

I assume Tower Hobbies will have pre-orders soon? Probably the best place to get it?

Hobbico/Tower are the exclusive North American distributors for Futaba products so it will show up there before anywhere else in NA. I would not suggest buying one from over seas if it shows up there first. Last I was told they did not even have a stock number in the system yet, so it is not going to be an any day kind of thing.

Yeah,

I'm thinking I might have to have one of these. I loved my 14MZ when I had it and have been waiting for the next big thing for a while. Almost bought a 8FG to hold me over, glad I waited for the big one.

Thanks,
Chris

I was once mocked and ridiculed for having a Futaba 9VHP (direct ancestor of the 18MZ) in a Concept 30 ! It's a hobby. Buy what you want.

I wouldn't buy a 14MZ even at half price unless it had a new screen, pots, battery,...

I recommend that the first person on here who gets one sends it to JKos for the mandatory latency tests.

I'm not in a rush to get one, let all the hysteria die down and read the reviews and reports and wait for the tray version. They'll probably call it the FX-50. And it will almost certainly have a even larger capacity battery (>5000 mAh).

Yes indeed ! One of the unmentioned features should be a latency of roughly half of the 12Z/14MZ according to JKos. Something in the 20 ms range - for 18 channels. You know, back to G3 latency.

I doubt you will see 14mz going for less then 750ish used. If that is the case I would just keep mine and use it as a back up. Not willing to take a complete bath with it. I think most of the people getting the 18mz can afford it and afford to keep there 14's although it would be nice to get a "fair" price out of a used one if I were to sale it, but fair is in the eye of the beholder.
