I was at the field last weekend and took a look at what other people use to fly. I saw boards, trays, neck straps, and some "free handers."

I like the neck strap approach and wrap my index fingers around the top of the transmitter, controlling the sticks with my thumbs. I have a Futaba neck strap with a Lynx balancer. I want to get a neck strap that is a little more "substantial" and padded. I saw the pad add-on that is interlaced in the strap, resting on the back of the neck. I really want an integrated padded strap.

Anything out there that you really like that is comfortable?

I can't see how, "it can't be". Looks like it would support a CinderBlock or two.

Try a Sax strap....
Hi Jolt,

Try looking in your local music shop for a Saxophone strap, I've used the same strap for around 20 years now (only for helicopters, I fly planks without). Sax' are quite heavy and the strap I've got has a nice comfortable sheepskin pad on the neck part, it also has quick non slip length adjuster. You need to check what kind of hook it has though as some have an open (non latching) hook.

I usually use the single one posted. Gheez..... it's only nylon and holding a radio not blocks..... two straps support better than one, but 2 orange Futaba straps will do the same.

It's off the neck so, it is more comfortable for me on the shoulders.

i don't use a strap, but did used to play sax back in the day. There was a strap with a leather neck part and cord that ran down to the clip, it was super comfortable.

There are several commercial crossover straps available as well.

Vario has one and so does rcamodels.com, and qualityrcproducts.com

Custom comfortable radio strap
There is a guy over on Helifreaks who is making a nifty strap for transmitters. It is quite nice.

Here is the thread:
