IMO once you go with a TT you willn't go back to a belt.

I agree but on such a small heli one would not know the diffs except in crashers and the rebuild time.

Do a search. Someone has already converted their Rave to a belt.

You most definitely would notice a difference.

The TT system on the Rave is one of the key features of the heli.
Low resistance, low drag and very efficient.

Putting a belt on the bird and you might as well pack it up, sell it off and buy another brand cos you'd kill it.

If you want to see how good the tail drive is on the rave, do some autos with a rave and a trex450 side by side and see which gives you better hang time.....my vote goes with the rave.

My rave autos better than my T500 ever did. In fact it's on par with, or very close to the bigger birds I fly.

2004lsc - Will look into that,thanks

nofear - I agree but lets be honest how many people auto 450.I leave my autos for my logo 500 se and use my rave to "blast" arround plus with the majority running 4s on this little chap one would not notice a belt drive whilst flying

And second (Im sure others would agree) its just a optional part for those who dont want to "plinker plonker" with torque tubes

What's to be plinker plonked with a TT?
You set I and forget it. Belts have to be adjusted when the weather changes significantly or as it wears in and starts to stretch a bit.

I'd take a TT ove a belt any day of the week.

Problem with the rave TT gears is the like to go randomly in flight. Also for autos it doesnt really matter if the belt is set-up right. Who ever says belts cant auto as good as a TT tell that to compass on the 7hv or the 6hv there proving that a belt can auto with any 700 size heli on the 7hv. I would be interested in a belt conversion.

I agree the Rave was built and designed from the ground up to be a TT.
a belt is too inefficient and would completely kill the silky smooth mechanics of this bird.

If you want belt there is pretty much only 1 mainstream option left..
Align 450 Sport..

the rest have all been moved to TT.

As for the claim that the Rave's TT strips in flight.. the ONLY time Ive seen this was due to a first gen transmission part that was redesigned due to snapping which caused a gear failure..
a properly setup TT is bulletproof unless you crash and do not replace the gears and the gear later fails due to something you did not see.
always replace all the gears in any crash.

Well having Seen both James Hayley and Nick Maxwell go through the black ones in flight. There is a fine line were there good or not on the headspeed. Even 3300 HS is on the line for stripping in flight accord to what I have seen and heard from Nick and James. Belt still whould be nice to have. The Trex pro does not have this issue casue those gears are so much bigger compared to the rave gears.
