After being overseas for 5 years, I finally got orders to head back to the states. I will be stationed at Cannon AFB and I'm interested in finding a good group of drama free heli pilots in the area.

If you are familiar with the area and the club sites there, please chime in so I can hit the ground running.

I did do some research and I found one nearby club called MADS, but they don't seem to be very active anymore (site was last updated in 2008) and they only seem to focus on airplanes. After visiting their website, they don't seem very inviting (there is a whole page that states what not to do to be a club member...mostly complaining about members that don't meet their expectations). IMHO, being member shouldn't come with a mandate since non of us are politions and simply want to have fun. But I could be wrong. Let me in on some good info about the area if you know something thanks gentlemen

Oh I wish....Cannon is definately not a place I want to go....it wasn't even on my dream sheet. I'd rather go to Langley, at least there's more people than cows there. But that's up to AFPC. There's still time and I'm trying to get my orders canceled or at least changed. I'd even go back to Korea for another year. Wish me luck

I don't quite remember, but I don't think Clovis is too far from El Paso, and I hear they just opened a new field for Heli's. It might be an hour or so as I recall. Its been a long time since I was at Fort Bliss!!
