Anybody ever use / know anything about this motor? I know that Hacker is a great plank motor but I have never heard it being used in heli applications!!

Hacker's Latest Motor
This is Hacker's latest edition. I am going to put on on a TDR. I am told by Matt Botos and others running them they are GREAT motors. It is the next evolution of the Hacker Turbine's and I have running one now in a Logo 600 and it runs cool and makes great power.

The price is great. Give it a try, you will not regret it at all.

The A50-14L in our Logo 600 is a BEAST!! I see no reason to think that their new line of motors would be any less.

The Turnado is a purpose built helicopter drive.

I have only had 2 flights on mine but it appears to be a beast. I will withhold any comments about flight time or temps until I can dial in my setup.

The price is $170 which is a bargain compared to a Scorpion. Heck Hacker even gives you QUALITY bearings.

No bad bearing / self destruct disclaimer needed.

+1 on the bearings!

Three Hackers,, and they have all been utterly maintainence/free.

And the A40-10L turbine in my logo 500SE has just been an excellent
performer on 6s.

Will be watching for more review on this 'Turnado'.

Currently flying the 470KV in a Thunder Tiger E720, 9.58 is the stock ratio with a 12 tooth pinion, 12S. Dunno idle 1 rpm, but ESC datalogger (spin99) is showing 2120 in idle 2, extremely powerful and smooth, and lands 130 to 135 (farenheight), with ambient temp here in the high 80's, low 90's. cool and powerful,.. and light too.

Awesome information!! Thanks a bunch!! I will be giving this motor a try.

My next question is: What, if any, motor mount / pinion bearing setup is needed to make this motor work as the Trex 700E stock motor shaft is longer than most shafts. I bought a Hyperion motor and the shaft wasn't long enough to go into the pinion bearing. Same goes for the Scorpion.

Thanks again!!

And Futaba! Although, with Fut., it should feel right at home, to
come up w. electric motors.

OS, on the other hand, have to wonder if they will actually be making
them, or rebranding something or other?

I just installed one of the new A50 Helicopters motors in my Furion Six, and the shaft was plenty long enough to reach the counter bearing block.

Although it was a tight fit I did manage to get the this motor into a Furion Six.

This motor makes really good power and runs efficient and cool!
Video coming soon

I have one in a Logo 600 with a Kontronik 80+HV and a ThunderPower 65C 4400 10S pack. 2200 on the head.

It runs hotter than blue blazes just like a Scorpion, but makes big power. It is right at 100F every day here in Arkansas and it runs int he 135-150 range every flight, but no hotter than a Scorpion and makes big power and torque.

It will thermal a Jive 80+HV. I did it. I normally run a Hacker Electric Turbine which runs a LOT cooler. Makes maybe 3-5% less power but still plenty and runs cool.

I am going to try it in a Henselelt TDR. I believe it to need 12S to be efficient. Runs hotter than... on 10S pushed hard.

For the price you can't beat it. No hotter than Scorpion and makes every bit as much power and more than a 4035. Quite a bit cheaper too.

Hello,

I have a Hacker A40-10L ET and I am considering a Kontronic or YGE controller. I have otherwise used the Hacker ESC's.

Can someone tell me the settings requred to run the Hacker as I was told they are different to other motors.

Cheers.

The Kontronik Mode 10 is Kontronik Special Application Mode. It changes how the motor is run and was made just for the Hacker Electric Turbine. Been running one for 3 years.

So have you tried the motor? I have a friend who has a Scorpion HKIII 4035-500 for sale for right at $200.00 so I am considering that motor but I can't find a bunch of reviews on the Hacker. The things I heard about the Hacker motor is great but not a bunch of people are running them.

I have the 470kv Turnado in my TDR. It runs strong and about the same temp a Scorpion would run.
