Man I'm having a difficult time fixing this issue. I have a wagging problem and I cant seem to find the problem. The tail is buttery smooth, no binding, I have gone in and out a hole, changed gains from high to low and back, no change. Acceleration is at 60, P gain is at 75, I gain is at 75, Stops are at 20. Tail kicks to the right on a hard punch. While doing rainbows on negative pitch, it wags. In fast or slow hurricanes it wags. All wags are pretty fast. I was told the 8900g likes low gains but i don't know. Getting lost here. Any Ideas?

Scorpion 4035-560
castle 120
set rpm 2180
gov gain 20 seems ok

Try using fixed end point on the esc to make sure it is not the esc first; then using different gains on the vbar. One time it drove me crazy and found out it was the set rpm in the esc.

Some of your gains based on our experiences are too high. By the way, length tail blades?, type blades?, head speed?

Assuming the blades are 95mm, not plastic, and head speed is 2200 or below, then let's start over. Do a reset on the tail in the expert menu. That will clear any optimizer values, and set everything back at default etc.

Hit "lock mode", turn the optimizer off.

Set numbers on the left column, top to bottom at:
5
55
80
50
20
20
25% expo to start (adjust to your liking later)
Leave optimizer values at 30/30, optimizer off.

Set numbers on the right column, top to bottom at:
22
0
0

Set the yaw rate to 100, and the master gain at 85 to start (you can adjust yaw rate later to suit).

Give it a whirl. These numbers are very safe, and should work pretty well, (at least they do for Kyle).

As for how the CC ESC affects the tail is another thing, and I can't help with that. New owned one (-:

BTW, Kyle uses the 8900G as well.

I will give it all a try. I spoke with castle yesterday and the gov gain shouldnt make it that bad at least from what they say. I will make the changes on the vbar and start with gov gain low and work my way up. thanks for the info! Much appreciated

Just reporting back in. I used your settings and it improved considerably. The tail was hunting so I reduced the master gain from 85 to 75 and it was rock solid. Now I just need a calm day in Dallas so I can do an optimizing flight. Thanks for the help Dave!
