[size=large]450 T-REX SE-V2,All working well, but would like to tame down the sencitivity of the Tx, at present the slightest movement of the stick commands the Heli obeys I can control it now but would appreciate how to smoothen it down a little
My Tx Spect DX 7 Heli.
Thanks, ED

Either reduce AIL and ELEV in the swash mix menu (cyclic pitch) or use positive Expo. on AIL and ELEV, try 20-30%. Also add some flybar weights if you haven't already.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Go into dual rates/expo, activate the ones you need to tame down ie. aile and elev and try setting them to +15% if this helps but you require to tame things a little further, increase it up to about +25%
This will make make things less sensitive near the centre of the sticks.

Ryan.

Hi guys

PIT 60.... that is how much pitch travel you have. (+/-).. left stick...

These electronic adjustments will help reduce the control response electronically. It is good advice.

If you want to increase the stability of the machine, try some flybar weights or heavier paddles. They will slow everything down.....

Regards
Paul

The percentages all depend on what length servo arms your using on cyclic. You can also use shorter servo arms (all 3 must be the same) to tame it down, this will also increase resolution and precision.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Read this post if you really want to know what all those radio settings do for you:

https://rc.runryder.com/p4325158/

Read especially the part about setting up the numbers in the SWASH MIX menu. That would be the part about setting up the overall collective pitch (PIT) range, and setting your CYCLIC PITCH (AIL/ELEV) numbers.

Once you have the radio and mechanics properly set up, if you want to tame things down, add POSITIVE EXPO to the aileron and elevator controls (JR / Spektrum radio). (For a Futaba radio, you use negative expo). Don't forget to add some expo to the rudder channel, too, as that will calm the tail response down with the stick near neutral.

Adding positive expo flattens the stick/servo response curve around neutral, taking away the twitchyness and response to every teeny movement of the sticks. (Negative in a Futaba radio does the same thing).

The numbers in the swash mix menu control how much overall pitch, aileron, and elevator travel the heli will have. Adjust them properly. Don't mess with them when trying to tame the heli. Use the EXPO functions to tame it down.

While you're at it, you said the EXP setting in your swash mix menu is set to INH. Turn that on. This setting, when on, allows the radio to compensate the servo travel when operating in CCPM mode, in an effort to obtain a more linear pitch movement. The servos are translating rotary movement at the output arm into a straight line movement at the control link. When the arm is centered and it moves about center, the link moves roughly the same amount as the arm does. But as the servo travels towards one of its endpoints, the ball link attached to it moves almost as much left and right as it does up and down. Enabling the EXP function in the swash mix menu tries to compensate for that change in link travel. You'll want to readjust your pitch curve settings after enabling the EXP function. Do NOT confuse this EXP function with the EXPO function for aileron, rudder, and elevator, they are two different things that accomplish two different goals.

Flybar weights will also add to stability and reduce the sensitivity of the aileron and elevator controls.

You're welcome. Odd how radios have all those cool functions, but the user's manual never tells you what you do with them!
