Mike, If you come up this way we can go to the field and the Gravity Inn is just down the road if you feel like "Tying one on"

One mile of road will take you one mile. One mile of runway will take you anywhere in the world.

A great feature on the 2.4 won't work on wrong model
That is only a Spektrum/JR feature. You can still select the wrong model with Futaba and Airtronics
Sorry to hear about the crash....there was an ION in the classifieds for just about the same amount of your crash maybe it is still there???

The lessons learned in this hobby are usually really expensive. They are for me anyways. Hang in there Mike, Things will work out and you will look back and realize the good that came out of it all even thou it hit the pocket book a little.

I was unloading my heli's last season from the truck, for some stupid reason I set them down behind the truck to do somthing else and then forgot about them. I never set them down until they are in the house so I guess I must have thought I already hauled them in.

To make a long story short I realized I had left them behind the truck when I ran over the first one and the second one got pushed away before I could stop the truck. Wasnt a total loss as the electronics didnt get ran over but the Raptor 50 needed a lot of parts to get it flying again.

We all do some stupid stuff, life goes on. I had to learn to laugh at myself because I know everyone else was.

Hang in there
We have all done something similar, especially if we have been in the hobby a few years.

Life does suck sometimes however we always get through, especially with good friends.

Keep a positive outlook on life and take a break for a while. Things will get better!

Good luck!

A good day flying is when you come home with everything in one piece

I'm at the same crossroads watched my 700 chicken dance to bits 2 weeks ago, I haven't determined the cause yet,but I think it was a loss of power and my fbl unit tried to reboot. I hit throttle hold and nothing. I was only hovering for break-in. This with crashing my 550 twice has me at some serious doubts about giving up and I had been making great progress with my flying.

Edit: I wish I had some encouraging words for you,but all I got are black skys in my head
