After a tought year with life and all it can throw at you. I crashed my Ionx2 electric, in like 5 seconds. Reason being, had the wrong copter on the radio, and not doing a radio check. Duh. I thouhgt if im this stupid, time to give it up, but a friend talked me down...for now.

We all have ups and downs. You may find that R/C will provide you a sense of normalcy. Don't give up on it too quickly.

A great feature on the 2.4 won't work on wrong model. You are not the only one to do that. Sorry you had a mishap.

I almost had a similar thing happen yesterday. Just set up heli on new remote, and aileron was reversed. Good thing i was taking it very easy or it would of been bad. Not good to figure out as heli is getting lite on the skids for take off. After I switched the mixing on the swash, everything went perfect. So things do turn around sometimes for the best.

What heli is this you crashed? I might be able to get something for you cheaper than fixing what you have. I have a couple of Hirobo Evo 50s, a Compass Knight 3D thats never flown, an Audacity Pantera, a Raptor 60 and a Raptor 90 thats unasssembled-any of which I could be talked into shaking loose for you if it helps.

Is that what happened with the stang and the garage door too? Did ya have the wrong foot on the wrong pedal?

J/K, sorry to bring that sore subject back up.

There are a couple guys at our field that have done the same thing. It was the guys that bought the 2.4 modules for their existing tx's besides just buying a new tx. In what they spent for repairs it would have been cheaper to buy the radio with model match built in so those screw ups could have been avoided. I am sure it would have happened to me to if I went the module route, having 10 heli's it is very easy to forgot to change models when you take more than 2 to the field.

I dont have model match, I have an 8fg, it was me just not checking the basics, and assuming. the cobra goes in the 16th. 1640.00 for repaint, 645.00 for the door , not bad for 15 seconds of being an idiot.

Almost threw in the towel
I know how this makes one feel, I've done the same stuff. And I've felt the same way, makes me sick sometimes to do something, not thinking about it in the first place. If you love the hobby, try not to beat your self up to much. We will learn, and hopefully not make the same mistake again.

Stick with it.

Model Guard device
For those without Spektrum's model match technology there is http://www.ModelGuard.com that has a product that should work with you receiver and transmitter. A tiny 5 gram part that could save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Check it out, and better luck next time, Mike. I've been there, and now do the hobby in moderation - even with only one helicopter now.

Keep your head up Mike, I about lost my idle up finger because I was a dumb ass that reversed the motor and sent Trex 450 flying up in the garage. If it wasn't for model match I would of been in big troubles several times. Hope the best luck to you getting that back in the air soon.

Mike, I know it can be frustrating, especially if you have a crash totalling several hundred dollars. Been there done that. But don't give up on the hobby. You say your taking a deep breath? Why not take a break until you get her back in the air. Noone says you have to fly RIGHT NOW! Just wait until your finances for your heli are available, and get her back in the air LATER. Sorry for your crash.

Sorry bro, it's like losing a good friend when you watch the destruction, helplessly. Nuff to make a grown man cry....

Chin up; as you were. The fun far outweighs the tragedy.
