Nice! Tail fins caught some tall grass in a really low rainbow and slung the heli to the ground with so much force it threw the battery pack, here's the result of the engine destroying itself.

Note: The second pic is a piece of the clutch melted through the fan and shroud, lol.

What sucks is that I really had my Rave dialed in, it was flying so good, lol, dangit!!!

I started running up to it to try to grab the pipe deflector rubber to shut it off and about half way there I stopped fearing for my safety.

It just kept getting faster and faster and louder, it was quite spectacular, so much smoke and noise and then POP and silence ... toast, lol ... oh well

It was skids down, no funky chicken, so the heli made it without too much damage.

That's awesome. I did the exact same thing back in late 99 with an Xcell Custom Graphite and a brand new OS 61WC. Clutch exploded, engine went full throttle no load, and 3 seconds later the rod went through the case.

lol that's awesome, same here, local guy, one time he crashed his 500 and got so mad he threw it to the ground causing 5 times the damage of the actual crash, then another time he got mad and threw his 9303 on the deck, lol.

I recently had my Raptor go in over a similar power issue. In my case, the wires broke off the regulator I was using while doing maximum rate flips.

Damage to engine was very similar.

I resemble that remark. Canopy took out the bat. went in about 100 Ft. away. buy the time I got to it, this is what we could find of the clutch and bell. The motor was OK, still using it.

It don't matter how you get there, if you don't know where your going.
