Stock ratio 6.42,
with the 3200 LiFe battery its 12 lbs
( my scale is not super accurate)

in the future i plan on shedding some weight
with aluminum screws and locknuts where its safe to use them,
lighter skids
and im going to get the flybarless head with a total g

It should be a blast

No mechanical vibe issues yet,

i had a small vibe but richened up the main needle and it corrected itself,

also at the same time i started using 93 octane fuel as well.

everyone who sees this machine in person cannot believe it,
they are all like " holy crap i have never seen a gasser go like that"

I think it said on the vid you were running at 1950 head speed and if correct the motor was running 12,500 rpms or so with a 6.43 ratio.
If run at 1800 rpm's or so with a 7 to 1 ratio like the Spectra that would be around 12,600 rpms and I bet it would be impossible to bog.
I only mention this as that is the rpm area I run usually.
Looking forward to the 690's!
Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

hmm
Yea weight is an issue with any '3d' gasser. The more we can shed the better performance. All in what is desired of course. Century is thinking of weight.

What is your cord width on the 710's. Curious on the loading of the blade.

Pyro rate looks nice. Great flying.

The Rotortech Scott Grey 710 3-D blades are 63mm cord.

The Rotortech 690's have a 61.75mm ish cord.

I plan on trying the 690's
and running the motor at 12,500 (1950) headspeed

just to see how it runs.

I personally like keeping the rotorspeed around 1800
and let the torque do the work.

If the motor is happy at 12,500 and you like 1800 would you change the gear ratio to 7 to 1? Or can you on a Radical ,,?? Never had a Century.
But with such a tall 6 43 ratio the motor seems to have stump pulling power especially pulling 13 degrees collective and 9 cyclic! I can only imagine a 7 to one Gear ratio at 1800,,the thing would be totally unstoppable.

Would love to see this in person
You should come visit sometime and we can compare performance and such to see how the different setups behave

Not to take away from the purpose of this post in any way...but in promotion of gassers in general, any of the modified engines out there are going to give similar performance.

What you are seeing in these videos is not an anomoly. People are flying these things every day. Just buy a modified engine from any of the modders out there and you come out the other side with a smooth and powerful gasser helicopter.
If you have been sticking to the sidelines and avoiding gassers because of performance, now is the time to jump in.

If you want a gasser and you want this performance then the options are readly available to you.

Thanks for the compliments
I built, set up and tuned this beeotch,
but I cannot fly that good..
like as stated before 80% of how well a helicopter performes is the Pilot.

The 3rd video was Mr. Rick Grey he is a fantastic pilot.
his flying gets better and better every time I see him fly.

He had me cringing a little bit on that one
a couple of those moves i thought the rotorhead was going to rip off.
LOL

The premice of my threads this one and the " truth about wally motors" that was closed, was to clear up the water of the mud that some guy's stirred up.

I have 2 other modified motors by another vendor
and yes they are very smooth and do have alot of power.

However not quite as much as this 30cc

as I had stated before tuning is very important,
a couple of long time gasser pilots had pm'd me saying i could crack open the high needle another 1/16th

I had the century aircleaner on there but wanted to also try the miniature aircraft unit as well i had not re-tuned it after i changed the aircleaner for this video.

The internet is a very powerful place,
there is plenty of useful information out there and also alot of
bad information as well.

I wanted to see for myself how good or bad this engine was
and it was really hard for me to finally order one,
it is a expensive engine to "play" with

now looking back I am very glad that I did get one

By the way
Spank Rick Gray for me and ask him why he didn't make it to MHA this year?

I just came back from there and it was an awesome weekend the weather was the best in years not hot and quite sunny most of the weekend. I logged in 25 flights on my own birds plus some more on other peoples. Lighter than usual turnout no wait to fly any time.

Are you guys going down to Tuscarora PA this weekend? I would love to show you a performance video on here but some engine modifiers would not allow it. I can show you in person next time we meet.
