Classified low mileage.
Is it just me, or is there an overwhelming amount of helicopters in the classifieds that have only had a gallon or less through them
Only flown after church on Sunday, and landed on a goose down pillow.
I see over and over stuff asking for 1 third of the new price only flown 2 times. Or Once
Don't get me wrong. I have 4 glow helicopters and I bought them all from the classified section and am happy with all my purchases.
It's just hard to believe so many owners with so much experience are selling a chopper in some cases never flown for so little.

I seldom see someone advertising something like my Raptor .30
Ummm I bought this chopper used. I put a couple new servos on it. Flown 8 cases of fuel through it. Lost count of how many times I have crashed it. But it's a flying SOB

Not a rant. I just sometimes find it amusing.

I was looking at an ad that said new in box blade heli. It was on another forum. I messaged the guy and asked, if he still had it. He said he did and that he had just flown it the day before and that it flies well. But it was advertised new in box. So, I left it alone, but I thought it was funny as to what he thought new in box meant.Man, I miss the eighties.

Yea i often also wonder the same thing, are there hords of people building heli's and not flying them, wonder if it is a big shelf queen hobby. Meet a guy one time that had 13 HPI Bajas and none of them had been run, couldnt believe someone would spend that kind of change and never run them, but oh well i got one for half price and ran the piss out of it,

I find myself with 20 nitro helis so it's not impossible. I enjoy the build as much as the flying sometimes. I got a little carried away with making sure I have a backup. I think there are a number of people who get into the helis, don't fly much and get back out. I think also people will try a different brand heli, get through the basic build or maybe even fly a little and decide they don't want to spend the time dialing it in.

I was at the LHS buying Deans the other day. There was a guy buying a Blade 400 at the counter and the owner said to him "he is who you wanna talk to"--pointing at me. I am pals with the owner.

I was caught off guard in an awkward moment and asked the guy "Have you flown before?" He said "No, I have 7 helis. I buy and collect them, but don't plan on flying....."

Do you have that guys name, I'll sell him a couple barely used helis. So I can upgrade a couple. He must have allot of money. lol If he doesn't even fly them.

I have metioned the "barely flown" or "less than a gallon" and "never crashed" phrases to the wife before. Some people are spending allot of money to never fly, and some are not trying hard enough if they never crash.

Yes, every nitro engine in a used plane, heli, or car, has always had less then a gallon through it. It's amazing how that works!

Me
Hey, Iam one of those guys. I really enjoy building them and can't wait for that first test flight. Some of my helis I have sold on here really only had maybe 1/2 gallon or so if that and have only really been flown once after Church on Sunday. I don't keep them long enough to crash, thats why you never see me selling a heli thats been crashed or repaired...............

I guess there are more aspects to helis than just flying.
I guess thats why I still fly airplanes. I like to build them.
To each his own.
