Raptor 90
Hi guys,

the question i have is as i understand it, the metal side frames on a raptor 60 and a 90 are the same apart from the 60 ones are silver and the 90 ones are black, would that be correct? If it is correct, are the black colourd frames anodised or just painted satin black?
What im getting at is im looking at a 90 raptor with a view to buying it but i think it is a 60 with painted side frames to make it look like a 90.
Now they might be much the same but id rather let the guy know that is selling it that he isnt as smart as he thinks he is, thats why im asking for some advice on this.
As always, thanks for your help.
If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!

SE has black carbon frames, only the frame stiffeners are silver.

Yes the 60 ones are silver and the 90 are a kind of grey/black anodised finished, not painted.

Thanks Dokey, thats what i thought they should have been. I have never seen a 90 up close so thats why i am asking. The grey/black colour looks right from what i have seen in pictures. If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!

the 60 has silver frames and are thinner than the 90 ones
the 90 has either gun metal grey or black anosised frames
as already said they are thicker than the 60 ones
i have no idea what the difference between the two colours on the 90 frames
i have seen both colours on 90 kits
i always assumed the 90 was gun metal grey until i saw the black one

if its been painted i would assume it is a 60 to 90 conversion

some of the 3d pilots put the 60 frames into their 90's to save weight
as they are thinner and lighter
the 60 frames on my 60-90 conversion are holding out well
no issues in the last 7 years

I need not worry then, thats what i like to hear. I like a heli to fly, not getting tinkerd with in the workshop all the time.

I've got a 90 that has the silver sides...I fly the helll out of it, never one issue. Several hard landings, crashes etc...no problem.

Don't worry about it...less you just like the dark color.
Common sense isn't so common. Yes, there are stupid questions

Same here, Got my 60 in 2004 and converted it to 90 around 2006/2007 Left it with the "thinner" 60 frames because I did not know they were different (thicker). Not an issue even with several crashes; the frames have not been replaced. Plenty of plastic parts replaced tho.
