Synergy E9 was a conversion kit for the N9 which I released mid last year. There is only do much you can do when converting nitro to electric without a complete redesign.
The pictures were taken by Art Hughes, the helicopter is my latest creation... The E6/E7 project has been on my design plate for many years now and finally getting around to producing it. E6 is a 600 size electric, E7 is a 700 size electric. If your interested, keep an eye on my websites.

Thanks,

Matt

Only thing I can see that I would change is extend the frame forward a bit to better protect the battery.Trex 700E / Trex 500 ESP - Ikon/ HD 500 - Ikon 2/ Goblin 500 Ikon 2

I'm thinking that the battery does not extend that far normally if the canopy is on? But they had to move the battery forward since there is no weight of the canopy in the front?Avant RC

And the confirmation

Very nice heli design. Clean, crisp and simple. Good servo layout and it looks like it's easy to work on and access the "guts". I look forward to the release.

I am digg'n it!!

I understand why they put the battery there for CG. I am just saying that a little more CF would've added very little weight, but protect the battery a bit more.Trex 700E / Trex 500 ESP - Ikon/ HD 500 - Ikon 2/ Goblin 500 Ikon 2

Mild Rebuddle:

If I was sitting at a drafting board or playing with CAD. the last thing on my mind would be designing a layout that was "Crash Resistent." I see your point though. Designing a cage as an after thought is usually in the hands of the hobbyist on many helis.

Case in point: The X5 on a nose in dump would trash the motor as the Lipo would give it a good shove on impact. The X5 is an awesome bird, in my view.

The nature of a heli, in all its glory, is extremely fragile and not fun to have main blades touching earth at over 2000rpm. Just count the bearings that come to an immediate STOP!
