CG question
Hi,
I want to know how are you guys getting the correct CG for the nitro model? I'm using a 3200mAh rx pack that weigh about 6oz. and the CG is still off, even without the half a tank of fuel in it. Any avice would be great.

Thanks,
Jans

I had to fabricate an extended battery tray to push the battery as far forward as possible, but that wasnt enough, so I then added a TON of nose weight ontop of the tray. Battery is a 3600mAh that weighs 5.11 ounces. The battery tray is aluminum, the added weight pieces on top of the tray are steel bar. I was quite surprised at how tail heavy this helicopter was.

even with a 5000mah battery hanging off the nose mine is still tail heavy, custom canopy which is double the stock weight pretty much gets the balance right with half a tank.

I put weight in the nose of the canopy to balance with half a tank of fuel. Think it was about 4 oz.Dr.Don

Why didn't they take this to consideration when they were designing the model? Or even come out with a fix for the problem? I don't what to have to make something or use weight for a kit I paid $800 for.

Don't know if it to much of a issue.

Today I tested my Rave which was converted to FBL, used a bigger receiver battery which is 100gr heavier to get a good CG. Then went back to my stock LiFe; didn't note too much difference on flips.

Using a BeastX which is running quite good. Better than any VBar I have. But haven't tried the VBar on the Rave yet.
