Balls and ball links
Anyone know of a source for 5mm OD balls that are secured with an M2 stud or M2 screw? I'm trying to adapt a Trex 600 flybarless head to an older helicopter and just discovered that the Trex blade grip balls and links are bigger than the typical size ball. On the FBL 550/600, the links from swashplate to blade grips have 5mm OD balls and the pushrods are 2.5mm. Seems most of what I have on hand are about 4.75mm OD balls. The swashplate I'm using is threaded for M2.

Thanks, Scot

Will the 5mm. ball links clear the swashplate that you are going to use?

Heli770,
That's a good question...need to check.

Jeff,
Hirobo? Are you sure balls are 5mm? Could have sworn they were smaller than "typical." Will check when I get home. I have some Sceadu parts in the box of junk.

Too hard to change the balls on the grips since they have to be an exact, specific length. Are the Hirobo balls bigger than Raptor balls?

You can leave the 5mm. balls on the grip. The 700N has 5mm. ball links for 2mm. rods.

HN7058, All the rods are 2mm on a 700. The only rods that are 2.5mm comes in the 550-700 FBL heli kits or FBL kits. For Main grips to Swash.
