Fury 55 baseplate saved my Furion 6!
I have a hard time with orientation on my Furion 6, and one of the reasons is the curved bottom of the frame. The shape is just too different than what I've been flying for the last 17 years, and it's problematic for me with regards to orientation.

So I added the baseline from the Fury 55. It was only $13 or so, and drops right on in place of the existing carbon strips above the landing gear. In addition, I was able to move my Esc down onto it, which has the benefit of giving it more airflow vs being tucked up in the frames.

It has lost some of that sexiness that the curvy frame gives it in the air, but for me, orientation is much easier. I'll get a pic up later when I have a chance. It's a nice addition for improved utility, at a low price.

OK, well the baseplate saved my heli. On my second flight today, my Castle 85HV decided to go nuclear on spoolup. Huge flames, lots of smoke. Ran over to it and flipped it upside down so the flames were away from the heli. If I had the ESC up in the middle of the frames, the damage would have been much more extensive. As it is, the only thing it killed was itself.

Thanks Castle! That chunk in the second pic is what is left of the POS Castle ESC. Oh well, it served me well for 2 years in my Logo. If it had melted down in there it would have destroyed the whole heli.

I wouldn't have ever guessed that the 55 baseplate would have prevented an f6 from going up in smoke!Miniature Aircraft

I just think that having it there let the flames vent out instead of being contained in the frames where it would have surely got my vbar, as well as going up into the gears and serves.Nick Crego

No, I've got a Kontronik in my Rave, and it's nice, but not worth the money. Especially knowing that V10 is coming out soon with auto bailout and other nice features.

That ESC flew hundreds of flights over a couple of years before it blew up, and I'm fairly certain that it died because one of the capacitors got loose, which is something that was completely unprotected on these older 85HVs. It's being replaced with a 110HV that will be here in the next day or so, and the 85hv will be going back to CC for replacement. I'd go to a YGE if they were available, but they are on back order, maybe next time.
