Main Blades FBL
I have just set up a 450 pro FBL and was wondering should the main blades be fairly tight? I would think they need to be tighter than a FB model that I am use to. THANKS IN ADVANCE

Why?
The rotor blades don't know the difference.

Well when u have less rotating mass the blades I would think take longer to straighten out on spool up and could fold up on autorotate at low speed if the were lil loose

I run the main blades fairly tight for the same reasons you stated, especially on the low headspeed OOPS bounce on an auto.

Think about the main thought behind the question though. The total rotating mass is lower BUT the pull the blades have at a given rotation speed is the EXACT same. At 1500 RPM (very low headspeed) your main blades will be at the exact same lead/lag position relative to the main blade grips with or without the paddles.

My theory: Run them as tight as you can and still allow them to properly center out.

- I like doing auto's with my 450 now. It's made me brave enough to do some auto's with the 250
