Well, I did it today, put the 500 in the ground. Forgot to go idle-up and went inverted. The irratating part is that this is second time I've made this mistake.

My question is: are Hobby City HK500 parts good enough or should I go with Align replacement parts?

Thanks,
Tonic

I would stick with align parts, just because you know there going to be quality,..... even if it costs a little extra its better than another crash. and i have had my trex 500 for about 3 years, my only crash with it ever was when i forgot to flip on idle up and went inverted so dont feel bad hahahaha

The HK stuff is a different type of aluminum and seems to be more brittle. I would replace with Align parts. Esepcially on key components like rotor housing and blade grips. Align shafts are also much smoother. Not sure why HK doesn't polish their's, but they leave lines on them I guess from the cutting tool.

Lose your normal mode once you can successfully take off and land. Normal mode is for absolute beginners that have a tendency to jam the stick low when they get into trouble.
