I bought 2 futaba 750's, one for my vibe 50 and one for my aurora. I figured that by the time the 750's were released the fbl head would be also. I guess I was wrong big time! Only 108 days left to Ircha2011 and no word about it. How long can it take to make a fbl head available To the general public? MA already has their new 90 coming by summer.

lol, Avant never explain anything.
look at the e aurora, will be avaliable so many days after Ircha, date passed by and nothing, no word. eventually came half a year later than original release date and no explanation as to why ever forthcoming.
the FBL head will become avaliable some time in the future( your guess is as good as anyones) but avants attitude to customers is plain stupid, a bit of PR goes a LONG way.

and before all the fanboys flame me or my post gets deleted i used to have one and it was one of the best helis i have flown but i dont like being blamed by the manufacturer for parts failures especially when said part gets upgraded to a stronger item less than 2 months later date

what's needed to convert the OEM head to FBL? Are you using the rigid core dampners?

I'm using the RJX 600 FBL arms and 600 swash driver on mine. I know others use MA arms and Mikado swash driver.

I don't have the part # right here but you can go to the Avant support forms and in the FBL head thread their is a listing on part #.

Anytime Elmobad... Looks great. I knew you would love it.

Here's the part # for the RJX parts if someone want's to go that route for the conversion.

600 Arms for grip # FL50-70508
Swash driver # FL-60013
Swash driver arms # FL-60249

Just a note that they do offer 2 different arms for the grip and swash driver. the # listed above are for the 50/600 heads. The 700 Grip arms are to long and won't center. The swash driver arms for the 700 are longer though they will work though.

I don't crash... I land with style

fbL head coming soon?
Was on http://www.carbonextreme.com today and noticed that they had a statement "Available at Avant dealers in a few days!" Has this always said that? have i just missed that statement everytime I've been on the site? maybe. Another thing was on avantrc forums today trying to post this same subject but it never got approved i guess. I also noticed that the FBL head topic was closed. Could this mean its coming out soon? What you guys think? If so i'm buying two before they're gone!

if you have it pre ordered here Blax, i wouldn't count on it getting here, the E auroras never turned up and it will be cheaper from the states too, if it ever does turn up......

the avant forums will not let you post anything they dont want you to talk about, i even had a post deleted by them why i was asking why my torque tube snapped in flight.

"Available at Avant dealers in a few days!"
Don't know how long it's been there, but I wondered the same thing a month ago when I saw it for what I thought was the first time.
Also, about a month ago we were told that the problem was a new machine that took longer to get than expected.

Something is definitely up with this FBL head thing. I am not flaming Avant or Augusto. I have had nothing but good experiences with both, but the release of products does leave a lot to be desired. It is still one of the very best, if not best flying helicopters I have ever owned.

Back to the FBL head... I have had one of these in my hands and even though they are gorgeous, there really isn't anything special as far as manufacturing goes. I know that Avant claims to have a completely automated system for manufacturing product. If that is the case, then all of the programming has already been done for the mills (we have product out there). Stock aluminum is readily available and they have electricity in Nevada. It might not be sexy, but heck I could make enough of these heads on my friends' mill to have most people in stock by next Monday.

There is something else going on here. That is a fact. It is one of the following most likely:
1) Not a priority. The heli business is just a side thing that receives attention when they feel like it.
2) Too busy. Their magical manufacturing facility has been back logged by other work they have taken on.
3) Financial- no explanation needed.
4) Issues with current head/spindle/main shaft they are trying to work out.
5) They really don't have a magical manufacturing facility and their vendors aren't providing product.
6) They are redesigning other parts and going to wait and incorporate them into a new version of kit. (think about the comments of turning down your Jive ESC because it is too hard on the airframe)

I really like the Aurora and will probably buy another one when the FBL head comes in the kit. It is a beautiful machine that flies nothing short of superb.

With all those positives you can't just stick your head in the sand and not be a little frustrated with the absolute and complete lack of sticking to what you have told people though.

I too had noticed the 'Available at Avant dealers in a few days!' statement some time ago, so I don't think it is anything recent.

As for the Avant forum, I have recently had posts on the 'FBL Head' thread deleted and other new topics that never saw the light of day. It would seem that Avant can't be bothered to answer many of the product related questions posted on their forum, which makes me wonder what purpose it serves.

Although I have not been flying Avant for too long, this failure to deliver what is promised has made me seriously consider alternatives. However I don't really want to move to something else but Avant may just give me no other choice.
