how have you guys seen the CG fall out on the Rave 4503D.
Holding by middle of flybar with battery and canopy on, mine is a little nose heavy and have moved the battery just about touching the motor.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jeff

Mine is about the same. I may add some weight to the tail as in a washer to help balance it out. You should be fine.

Fly it and see how it behaves.

seems to fly well slightly nose heavy - its rolling straight.
Will fly for a while like this and see how it goes.
Thanks for the response,
Jeff

I used the tail servo boom mounts and it made mine balance perfect.
My batteries are Hyperion 4s 2200 35c packs.

Here a couple pic of what I did to get mine to balance.
1. Relocated ESC and receiver
2. Cut front frames where battery goes
3. Added 7 grams to tail
4. Balances perfect now!!

On 4s I needed to cut down frame so battery tray is verticle then use tail boom servo mount with shortened pushrod to get the servo further back on the boom and then I still had to add about 7 grams to the tail to ballence the heavy high C rated lipos. Also the Ice light 50 fits perfectly under the center frame brace between the side frames so that it is upside down facing the ground and is between the landing struts braces (directly under the main shaft).

If I had to redo mine I would try to fit the esc under the frames like you did jgatorman.

My first thoughts were to off set the tail servo weight from side to side. But I don't think that the weight of the servo would make any difference. Plus mine looks like I have a couple band aids on the esc.

You don't HAVE to cut the frames to balance. But if you look at the frame close you can see that the battery holder can be moved down. Look for the holes that go down at a slight radius(the bottom holes). What a great design by Curtis!!

I cut the frames because I didn't what to add any more weight to the tail. But if you choice not to cut the frames the added weight IMO willn't hurt this heli. It has alot off power!!

It really depends on your setup try to fly it first.....

Good luck Jeremy
