I just installed the PV0441 (Metal Elevator Arm) and had to split the frames to do so. I then upgraded to the metal collective arm. However, I notice a lot of side play with the metal elevator arm installed. Has anyone else noticed this? I checked this setup on my 90SE and there is no play (though the design is slightly different).

I really would hate to go back to the plastic elevator or another brand as this would require splitting frames AGAIN!.

Did you install the .50mm. thick washers next to the frame and collective arm bearings.

Can you elaborate on the washers? There were two washers with the metal collective arm that I used with aileron arms (seemed to help). I'm not aware of any washers specific to metal elevator/a-arm (pv0441) that would remove this side play..

I'm referring to elevator control lever - are you referring to washer for elevator pitch pull?

That elevator control arm upgrade is a waste of money IMO

I see what you're saying Heli770. I could see that help with side to side play of the pitch arm, but not play with the elevator control arm. I agree the upgrade probably isn't worth it but I needed the adjustable a-arms for new swash. I can always go back to plastic control arm with machined a-arms but I really don't want to split frames AGAIN. Stupid part should work regardless if it's worth money.

Does anyone have both metal parts and can vouch for compatibility? The design of metal elevator lever looks to be designed for thicker plastic collective lever.

I am using both on a 50 and no slop on the elevator. The distance for elevator and collective tray is preset. Nothing to adjust on the elevator, the arm is pinned and the other side is E-cliped.

I have lots of slop with no shaft/swash. If I put swash on that keeps it relatively stable from side to side. Slop exists but not as pronounced. Do you have slop with swash detached? I know it's preset and that's why I have concern...

My 90 is slop free with/without swash linked to arms.

With the "A" arms detached very little.
Edit: No more than the stock setup attached.

They do have alot of end float but it is nothing to worry about! As you say the end float is reduced when the A arms/links fitted.
If you can put a little blue or green loctite in the hole with the pin it will save you some tears 30 or 40 flights down the line, only use blue loctite for the retaining grub screw though!
The metal elevator control arm is a worthwhile investment if you have an agressive flying style and plan to go FBL in the future.
