can you guys tell me how a stock trex 500 esp motor is supposed to feel when u turn it buy hand. i have had mine for about three years and have had many flights. both FAI and 3D flying and i have only had a small crash with it once. when i took my motor out to clean it... its very easy to turn by hand. is it supposed to feel like that or is it worn and time for a new motor? thanks

P.S the heli runs great

a month ago, mine started howling. so i took it out to check it...i could spin it by hand really easy !! also had some up and down play on the shaft, so i went ahead and replaced it

i know they have a shaft/bearing rebuild kit for some of the 500 motors though

nothing to it but to do it

When I spin the motor of my 500ESP by hand, it feels tight but it sounds with a "metallic" sound. I don't know how to describe it better, but my question is if the bearings should be lubed periodically.

Thanks.

you can try lubing up the bearings that might do the trick, and it wont hurt anything if you do
